I'm Bored, so it's new topic time. The Question is, Why is Fluttershy so cute, is it her colour scheme, the way she is animated, her voice? It's hard to really put my finger on anything in particular. Some how she is always cute, while the other ponies are sometimes cute. Is it possible to draw Fluttershy in a way that would make her stop being cute? Or is it just magic and unexplainable?
I probably shouldn't get into this due to how biased I'll get but.... Everything about Fluttershy is cute. Her looks, voice, and mannerisms all scream cute and adorable. To me, nothing will stop her from ever being cute. I should probably stop before I go into a love-fueled rambling on her. *cuddles imaginary Fluttershy plushie*

No no no Zephyr You already told me in a earlier thread, that your Fluttershy Plushie is imaginary. Anyway I think the fact that Bronies can compete over who loves FlutterShy more, goes to show just how powerful her cuteness is. I think a lot of Fluttershy's cuteness comes from the way the animators animate her eyes, you can almost always see an emotion of nervousness in them. But then she even looks cute when giving THE STARE. It's perplexing her cuteness seems almost scientifically possible. Science! Aha! I know we should get Twilight to research this for us!
Ah yes, I forgot to put "imaginary" in there. I agree, Twilight should look into this. I find Fluttershy adorable and cute no matter what. I even d'aawwed when she was in that rage at the Gala!

I think it has to do with her personalty and her voice, well at least for me. yay HA fight over Fluttershy me and Rainbow Dash are just going to chill here and watch.

The answer is obvious: she is the original cute creature, its where they looked when first said "this is cute"
I think I mentioned this in the shyness thread, but what makes her cuter than the other ponies is her shyness when it's unnecessary. She fits the normal stigma but is shy in her mannerisms anyway, and that is the circumstance under which we find shyness adorable. Everything else about her is cute as well, but this fact is what separates her from the others.
Throughout my time watching Season 1, it was a close one between her and Dash. After the last episode and her rage fit, that did it for me. I can't really say why but when she cracked, I found that nothing short of adorable.
For me, it's the combination of her voice, shyness and her typical gentle and kind nature that make her adorable. Her appearance helps too, but without the traits of her character, I don't think she'd be nearly as cute. Basically the whole "looks aren't everything" ideology. She's like the epitome of timidity. I suppose I can also empathize with her in some ways, but my shyness isn't nearly as hyperbolic. Unlike some others, I found her out of character rage moments to be kinda scary. It's those quiet and shy ones you have to keep an eye on. When they snap, watch out! :ahh:
