    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    A slight breeze in the air causing the grass and leaves in the nearby trees to sway lazily in the relaxing afternoon sun, shining high in the sky. Over the sound of the wind came that of something humming. A young adult stallion, with fur of silver and mane and tail of red and black, was walking down the soft dirt path, the squeaking wheels of his wagon sourly punctuating the tune he was humming. The wagon was mostly empty, save for a few necessary belongings: a few outfits, a brush, a few changes of clothes (already used and dirtied during the long journey), a couple of bags of hay (mostly emptied by this point), some water jugs, and, for some reason, a microphone. The stallion's black hooves kicked up small puffs of dirt as he walked, his humming sounding slightly strained now as his breath grows more labored.
    After a few moments, the stallion stopped for a short, break, sweat rolling down his face and, though unapparent, his black vest was slightly damp from sweat as well. He detached himself from the wagon and walked over to one of the water jugs, taking a generous gulp from it.
    "Pwahhhh!" he said, relishing the rejuvenating coolness. "That really hit the spot. I think I'll take a short break here. I've already been on the road for over a week now, so the next town can't be too far, right...?" He sat down in the grass, surveying his surrounding now that he was more at liberty to look around. Dotted among the grass were flowers of varying colors. Reds, blues, purples, whites, all swaying with the breeze as well. He watched a blue-winged butterfly flitting around some flowers in the shade of a nearby tree and smiled to himself. This area sure is pretty, he thought, as his attention shifted to a couple of bluebirds flying around each other above the trees in a sort of aerial dance.
    After a few minutes' more rest, the pony stood back up and got back into his wagon harness. Feeling rested and hydrated, he set off at a brisk pace, whistling to himself. the road started to curve to the left and disappeared behind a thick grouping of trees. As he followed the road around these trees, a welcome sight slowly came into view: a town, quaint yet inviting, now stood before him. His destination finally in sight, the stallion broke into a light gallop, his heart soaring as the thought of proper food and shelter forced itself to the forefront of his mind. As he approached the town, he saw a large sign to the right of the road. Painted in big, charming font read; "Welcome to Ponyville!"
    At last, he thought. At last I've found the next inhabited area. This place seems like a comfortable place. As he entered, he watched the ponies of the town going about their business. All of them seemed like they were enjoying themselves reasonably enough. Here a few ponies buying fruits at a stall, there some fillies and colts playing children's games. Plenty of ponies were walking and talking with each other, laughing at jokes, or else sitting around on benches enjoying the nice summer day. These ponies seem nice, he thought to himself. I hope they're as nice as they seem. The stallion reached the town square, where he came across a magnificent clock tower, chiming 4-o'clock. He looked around and saw a number of food stalls, and in the background, some shops selling in various good and services. I've got a good feeling about this town, he thought, as a small smile spread across his face.
    Firebreeze dashed through the sky above ponyville like a bullet, leaving his signature fire trail in his wake. He let out a "Wooo Hoooo!" as he did a multitude of flips and tricks.
    Delphinium sat behind his desk as usual, his head balanced on his hoof squishing his face in a bit. His other hoof was busy pushing a broken drinking griffin that only worked when provoked. The griffin's neck extended back out of the water, and Delphinium pushed it back again with a sigh. The little device had been very entertaining- 3 hours ago. When nopony enters your shop, it just becomes one bored hour after another. I should really advertise more, he thought. Or perhaps I could change some of my stock around, maybe give the store a new layout? He sighed again as he went over many possibilities he knew would never come true. Outside his shop's window, many bustling ponies wandered around the regular marketplace buying various goods and services while exchanging those little bits. Why must sales be so boring?
    Snow walked through the marketplace, looking at all the places, when she noticed a particular empty looking flowershop, so she decided to stop by, after all, she could always use more flowers for her garden. Sure White Hopes were beautiful and such, but when your garden is just a blanket of them, they tend to get boring. She pushed open the door to see a bored looking pony at the front desk, "Uh, hello?" she said, "Are you open?"
    Delphinium was quick to drop his bored demeaner the moment he heard the entrance bell play its twinkling tune. Lifting his head, he said "Hello! Welcome to Flowers and Fragrances! How may I help you!" He put on his best smile and nicest personality. Not only did another customer mean money, but this mare meant time too. He was going to milk as much entertainment as possible without scaring her off!...or at least, that was his plans.
    "I was wondering if you had anything that could help spice up a flower garden filled with this plant." Snow said, levitating out a White Hope flower and showing it to the pony, "Any suggestions?"
    Something in the sky catches the mystery stallion's eye. As he looks up, he sees fire streak across the sky in elaborate swirls and loops. What is that? He thought, as he watched, captivated. Some sort of magic show or fireworks? It was then that he heard a cry of jubilation come from the direction of the flames and he realized the fire wasn't fire at all, but a fiery red mane and tail belonging to a pegasus flying around without a care. After a few moments, he lowered his gaze again to the town square. he looked around, not sure what to do with himself. For the time being, he took off his harness and sat at a nearby bench, looking around the square and watching its inhabitants. He caught sight of a chestnut stallion peeking out of the window of a flower shop and watched as a snowy white mare enters the shop. Thinking nothing of it, he continued looking around.
    "I wonder how long I'll be staying here before the wind takes me elsewhere as always..." He wondered aloud to himself. Being alone on the road so much, one grows accustomed to speaking their thoughts aloud, if for no other reason than to break the stretching silence. Silence, of course, was not a problem here in the bustling square of Ponyville, but habits are habits. Feeling a bit empty in the stomach, his horn shined silver as he magicked the last bit of hay from his wagon into his mouth, then some water after that. "Out of hay, eh? I should probably look into procuring some food of some sort..."
    A pale blue pony slowly trots through town observing all the ponies day to day activities as he did all the time. He always found it interesting to pick a pony, and study them for a bit drawing conclusions as to their personality, but he was simply too tired for that right now as the bags under his eyes clearly indicated. He layed on a bench under the delusion that he would only sit for a minute to rest his eyes, but his body simply ignored this, and he was asleep within seconds of hitting the bench, his horn making a small click as it tapped on the back of the bench
    Dark Shine woke up on his cloud with a yawn and stretched himself out, almost falling off the egde of his bed.
    He went up to his balcony and looked out over Ponyville.
    "Good morning Ponyville."
    He muttered to himself under his bed head which covered his face.
    He brushed it aside and looked out, spying a new face in town.
    "New face eh? I'll have to welcome him, Dark Shine style."
    He said, before heading back inside to get stuff ready.
    A sudden beeping noise sounded. A brown-coated pony half-awoke. Ooooh- Shu'uuup... Her face against the pillow, Haze flapped her hoof around a little, trying to reach for her alarm clock. After a few seconds of hoof-flapping, she eventually found it and slammed a button on its top. She lay in her bed for a few seconds, not thinking much, and doing less...
    ... She lifted her head slightly and looked at the alarm clock. 4pm!? She jumped out of bed, and poked her head out the window- her clock'd sounded late? There were ponies outside- Not directly outside, she lived around the borders of town, but actually in the town. "Curses... There goes my sleeping pattern..."
    The pony ate some breakfast and got ready to go out. When she felt ready, she pushed open the window, and lazily started gliding her way into town.
    After he felt satisfied with the training he had down, Firebreeze landed in the town square, his goggles hanging around his neck, and walked around, looking over the stands to find something to eat.
    Emerald Whirl emerged from the Everfree forest, her wings tucked neatly behind her and carrying a small bag of blue powder in her mouth. Unlike most other pegasi, she preferred the feeling of solid ground beneath her hooves, and tended to use her wings as little as possible. Glancing around, she noticed that she was close to the cottage of a certain other earth-bound pegasus, Fluttershy. Some of the smaller animals approached her, investigating the newcomer.
    Emerald smiled, and gently nudged them away, while trying to maintain her grip on the bag. "Hullo, li'le skirrl. Try nah ta geh underhuf, pleas. 'M crrying Poisin Jke Powner and I doan wan ih ta spill." Carefully stepping over the animals, she recalled what had happened the last time she had prepared Poison Joke Powder, and had let it spill on her.
    We'll just say that only being able to sing your sentences like a Canterlotian Opera singer can be a bit grating after a few hours.
    Bidding farewell to the animals, she continued on her way to Ponyville and toward Flowers and Fragrances. She had heard through the proverbial grapevine that the owner, Delphinium, had some pretty rare flowers and alchemical ingredients. She was curious to see what he had in stock. If he had just the right flower, she'd be able to mix it with the Poison Joke to make a substantially safer mixture (which, incidentally, made for a delicious herbal tea).
    Along the way, she spied the fire trail of one of the citizens. She hung her head and sighed. Showoff... She also found a pale blue unicorn snoozing on a bench, and another stallion alongside a wagon. She stopped and tilted her head. He doesn't look familiar... A newcomer? She noticed that Pinkie Pie hadn't "welcomed" him to town, judging by the fact that he wasn't covered in confetti, or worse, cake batter. It's happened before.
    Part of her wondered if she should beat Ponyville's Official One-Pony Welcoming Commitee to the punch and introduce herself. Crossing her eyes to glance downward at the bag of Poison Joke, she wisely decided to tuck it behind her left wing before making her way over to the newcomer.
    Thankfully, she knew that she wouldn't belt out her intruduction like a Canterlotian Opera singer. That would be embarrassing.
    Max lifted his top hat a bit, yawning as ever. "I'll be damned. A new mornin' an' i haven' been killed. Ain't that great?" He steadily got out of his bed and walked over to the junk door. Opening it up, he covered his face with his hoof from the sunlight. "Bloody sunligh' comin' an' blindin' me eye!" As soon as his eyes fixed on the light, he looked to his right, snapping his sight to his broom. "Well, betta' ge' to workin', then." He picked up the broom and put it on his back, somehow locking it in place. He walked to the door, but turned around and looked at his little shack. It wasn't steady, but it was home. He wen't through the door, starting another day in his pretty boring life.
    Fire sat in the town square munching away at and apple, observing the newcomer and his wagon. 'Wonder what this guy's up to...' He thought.
    Delphinium leaned forward and inspected the flower she was displaying. Why do I feel like I've seen this before? he thought curiously. "Well, any color goes with white. This flower in particular is a spectacle to see, though, so you'd want something that was same height or lower. You wouldn't want any sort of flowers that drowned out the physical properties of the flower, as that defeats the point of looking over for the white specifically..." Delphinium hesitated. He couldn't think of any more to ramble about on the topic of this little flower's placement. "Uhh, how's about basket flowers? I'll go get one." Moving away from the desk and into the shop, Delphinium hunted through a section of blue flowers until he found some particularly spiky looking ones. "Yeah, how's this look?"
    Snow looked at the blue flowers critically, "Hm, maybe, maybe... Oh, I noticed you looked white curious about my flower, it's called a White Hope, been handed down in my family for, well, ever. Not a whole lot of ponies know about it because of that."
    Delphinium took another glance towards the flower. White Hope...I...I'm sure I know that name... He looked down at the small pot he was carrying. "So, what's your verdict on the basket flower? I have a large selection to go through if you wish to browse."
    The mysterious new stallion continued looking around for some sort of place to buy hay. It may not be luxurious food, but it's cheap and plentiful, and when one travels like he does, money tends to be tight. "I'd really like to buy something a bit more...satisfying, but..." He looked down regretfully at his vest pocket, and his horn shone silver again as he magicked his coin pouch out of the pocket and gave it a shake. The resulting sound was less than encouraging, clearly no more than a few bits clinking pathetically against each other. He sighed and resigned himself to hay, then magicked the pouch back into his pocket and looked around some more.
    Ponies were going this way and that, busying about their day. His red eyes landed on one pony in particular of a strange hue. Her fur green as the greenest blade of grass, with a golden tail and mane, and eyes like that of the sky. Hm...? That mare...Is she...coming towards me...? He wondered to himself as he watched the pegasus continue to walk in his direction.
    He had always twisted, and turned in his sleep, and falling off the bench another fine example of this. As his face hit the ground he shot up, the first thing he noticed was a small crack in the corner of his glasses "Dang...." he muttered. He looked around seeing a pony with a cart figuring he was new in town he hauled himself back on the bench waiting to see someone welcome him to town. He wiped a bit of dust off his coat, and did had usually done, and started analyzing this new pony wondering what his story was, and wondering what his life was like, and why he was here.
