To ensure that things go smoothly in this forum, we've added some extra rules. Keep in mind that while posting in this forum, infractions will be given more easily, and in most cases without warning. We do this to make this debate section more enjoyable for those who can handle the discussions that take place here. Those who can't will, as a result of said infractions, be removed from this forum. 1. The Website Rules All rules of Everypony.com apply to this forum alongside the ones listed below. 2. User Removal The forum staff reserves the right to remove any user from this forum for being aggressive. We will not tolerate insulting one another's opinions here. 3. Reporting Users If you have a complaint to file on someone for being aggressive/unfair to another member, please use the report button or message a moderator directly. We will deal with it as soon as possible. Do not derail threads by calling out a user for their behaviour. 4. Debating Do not state your opinion as fact. You may argue your opinion and explain why you think it is right, but you are -not- permitted to call someone else's opinion wrong because you don't agree with it. 5. Topics All forms of discussion are allowed so long as they do not conflict with Rule 1 and can have a constructive discussion behind it. 6. Infraction Limit Any instance of an insult towards another user, immature behaviour, or intentional derailment, will result in an infraction. An infraction in this forum earns you one point towards your 'Three Strikes' record. 3 total infractions in this forum will permanently remove you from it. You are allowed one single chance to appeal. If your appeal is accepted, you will be re-added after a minimum period of 1 week after your removal. 7. Locking 7a. Topics that have been resolved will be locked. If different points of view are being repeated back and forth with no kind of progress towards the topic of discussion, we will treat this topic as resolved. These can always be unlocked upon request and good reason. 7b. While we will remove unruly members from this forum, keep in mind we will lock a thread if there is real need for it. Locking a thread will be considered a final and last resort, and will not be unlocked under any circumstances. Reasons for locking a thread include, but are not limited to: - Repeated topic derailment by multiple users. Only the instigator will be infracted or removed accordingly. - Topics that violate, or derail towards violation of the rules of Everypony.com - Duplicates of locked threads will be locked instantly. ~--------------------------------~ The point of the Serious Discussion forum is to allow users to engage in more serious discussions. We are able to remove users from this forum if they step out of line too much, and will do so as opposed to locking a thread. We're hoping this will create a more enjoyable and long-lasting enviroment for those who can handle it. In other words: We're doing this for you, so please follow these rules and make this last. If we find that the community as a whole can not handle these discussions, the entire section will be closed until further notice.
