Just like my last thread, I'll be out for a week. Must just be my lucky number for being away from the site. I am going to really crack down and get some studying in for my Finals and finish up some of the assignments I have been given for this week. So unless I somehow breeze right through everything, don't expect me back until Saturday. It will be nice that my return will be on the Band of Bronies broadcast we have on our Livestream. No, I heard there was an issue with the Itunes file and HASBRO is trying to copyright Derpy. This whole things was a big mess. She should have just stayed fandom.
She'll always be Derpy to me. Especially after this. People get offended at the drop of a hat these days. Busybodies looking for something to be offended about. I'd hate to live that way, how horrid an existence that must be. I feel nothing but pity for the kids whose parents are offended by something this tiny. Wait until they get into the real world on their own as adults, after growing up in an environment like that is there going to be anything they don't get offended about? /stopping here so I don't start a gigantic rant. They've seen how popular she is amongst the thousands of fans. le Hasbro formula: Derpy + Fandom Population + Further Appeal to Children = Money We Love Fine, to them, is taking a potential increase in profit away from Hasbro, they can't pass up that opportunity. However, Derpy represents the fandom in many ways, so it's sad to see this happen. :l
There is a petition to ask Hasbro not to change her name. I know that these people that are complaining about Derpys name are the same people that want to take away all of our rights. It cannot be tolerated. Destroying freedom of speech is not something we should just accept. The people that are trying to force Hasbro to do this are not offended by it. They are complaining because they have issues about adults enjoying a kids show and are just spreading hatred.

I think she will stay. It's just that, I remember way back, I was told the fandom would start to fall and break because something big would happen. I can only guess this is what they meant. All this crap over a character. The like the fact that the story creators know that bronies are out there. I think Derpy was to far though. Maybe mention her by name, but not let her speak and be apart of the show. I HATE watching the fandom squabble over something so dumb.
Split the fandom? I have no idea what you're talking about, while there are people who despise Derpy's canonization, and those who praise it, it seems at the end of the day, we all care about each other or are at least indifferent towards one another.

Alost 5k bronies have signed, I was around 4800 when I signed. So...can someone please explain to me why the people who are QQing over a cute cartoon character? I honestly can't conceive of it being offensive.

Please. I had a disabled brother. As a result I love "derpy" characters. They are so lovable and deserve to be seen, not kept out of sight because they make people "sad" or something. Isn't this show supposed to be about accepting everyone? Why should Derpy be excluded? This is the same reason I love TIMMY! and Jimmy from Southpark.
