I noticed ever since the Yoggscast released a video 'The Shadows of Israpony,' the MLP community on youtube has become more bitter and less loving and tolerating. On some hate videos against ponies you used to see people respecting their opinions but now I see
"GT-O! MLP IS BOSS GO EAT A ----!"
"YOU'RE A ---! MY LITTLE PONY IS AWESOME!"
It's really making us look bad.
I was happy to see that Yoggscast were making pony related stuff but they are attracting the wrong kind of fans. They pretty much just watched it because Simon and Lewis did. No one really understood what being a brony is, which is loving and tolerating peoples decisions and respecting them. They just think it's watching the show and enjoying it.

Idk, I'm happy to see the fandom expand, but at the same time upset because it's expanding to the wrong people. (Not implying that yoggnoughts are bad people.)

I hope this doesn't seem like I'm hating on Yoggscast.

Why do you spell 'Yogscast' with two 'g's?

Anyway, I never pay any special attention to what the community writes. It's all me and my ponies, baby.

I gonna be hated, but I don't like the yogscast. So I don't watch many episodes.

So not really sure if it a good thing they 'changed' the fandom.

Maybe it's bandwagon jumpers. They see yogscast like it so they like it just because.

That's exactly my point. Being a brony is more than just watching the show. It just plain annoys me and gives a bad name to us when people spit cursing and hatred towards people who think differently call them self bronies.

I'm not really a fan of the Yogscast, I used to find them funny, but as of late I find them more crude than anything.
I imagine that there will be fans of their show joining the herd, but like you both said, more for bandwagon ideals than anything else.
I just hope they lose interest fast, and don't spawn too many new bronies, I know love and tolerate are our motto, but I have a feeling Simon and Lewis would soon be, if they do.

P.S. Any Yogscast fans reading this, I have nothing against you as a person, I just think the Yogscast members have changed too much from their new found net-celebrity-ism.

You can't throw the blame on Yoggscast here, this is a general trend I've been noticing for a while, it seems many bronies are forgetting/no longer care what the group as was founded on.

Well I generally see a brony being mean and I would ask how he became a brony, most of their replies were 'Yogscast'

Its just that many bronys are forgetting the meaning of Kindness.. if you see any facebook posts by the hub that arent pony related, they are spammed by Bronys saying Inb4ponies and such. It makes us look extremely bad.

Like DH said, This has been a trend for a while. I've commented on this before, and I will again.

There is a difference between being a brony and watching MLP. I consider myself a brony, yet have not seen the past 6 episodes. Am I less brony for it? No. I know of people who watch MLP yet despise bronies. The problem is when people claim to be one and do the other, yet lie on both counts. This is why people say (now more rightly than not) that bronies are just bandwagon jumpers.

I only all of the above were not true. I hate bandwagon jumpers and people that claim false things. (see my view of punk music in rock thread)

Blegh, I'm not very fond of pretenders- but they get my love anyway -~-

Definitely not giving a good name for us, but I guess this means I have to work a lot harder now >:S

I'm surprised, though, that such a thing would come from them making videos on it, especially being that it felt to me that the videos were a bit mock-ish (in what looked like an attempt to do so in a playful way). But whatever.

Now now, it's not the pony way to hate. Why do you hate them? What did they ever do?

They do act childish and have less-than-ideal judgment, but that doesn't make them worthy of something so strongly negative as hate.

I don't actually see the problem. At least relatively, comparing the MLP fandom to say, any other fandom ever. The overall ambiance of the brony community is one of acceptance and cheerfulness. If there are some bad apples out there, too bad, but that's their problem.

Also, complaining about how 'those damned new people are killing the fandom' would make us look like snobs. Or /b/.

Which is the main reason I'm trying to avoid that kind of thinking. Doesn't really matter, anyway, as it won't affect us here. :3

So, what I'm seeing here is that the introduced bronies are producing more hate than love and tolerance. I think yogscast has gone too far. Sure they can mention and parodize things but MLP? Ever since then, there are actually some aggressive bronies than nice ones. Jeez, talk about "helping".
