I want to start off by saying this post is going to be both packed with some of my own, personal information and a rant against modern day Wicca. For readers who may be Wiccan or delve into the idea of becoming a Wiccan, you're going to want to skip this. I've done tarot readings, divination readings and the like for many people before. They've all asked me how I do it and if they can do it too, to which I reply they certainly can; like me, it should not be done for money. Personal gain and self development cannot go hand in hand. I give them basic methods to begin and eventually develop their own systems, my most recommended is a pack of 52 playing cards and/or six sided dice. You can either apply a meaning to each card and die, or look for an already developed system on the internet (which is what I did). In Qabalah we are taught that all is God, from every star to every person and divination works on this very principle. So, to do a reading I'd recommend having something think of a question they want answered but DO NOT have them tell you what the question is. Of course, in order to start the reading you'll need to have a spread in mind; past, present, future or something more advanced, like the fourfold path are both great spreads. Neither is hard to do, but interpretation is key. The cards, if a set of 52 is used, should be read like a story especially if the reading is a past, present and future one. Dice can be rolled to indicate probability of an event happening or how influential something will be to the person in question. Continue with the readings, using new tactics until the questions is completely answered. I'd also recommend not having the question be answerable by using "yes" or "no". Have it be open-ended, able to be read like a story. Now, there are plenty of books that deal with tarot and how it can relate to our daily life. HOWEVER, there is plenty of garbage out there too: Silver Ravenwolf. This woman has mislead so many with her incredibly stupid ideas, general intolerance and ignorance towards Christianity and Satanism, TERRIBLE understanding of hermeticism and magical operations, and the all around childish arrogance which she portrays... on top of encouraging children to lie to their parents. There's plenty of others like her, and because of this there is a very important rule to follow: If the author uses a name like Dancing Dragonmoon or something of that effect, pass them by. They will have zero to offer you in terms of spiritual development. Most anyone who does this partakes in a branch of Wicca to which calling useless and immature would be a complement. Then again, Wicca has gone through such incredibly drastic changes, eliminating any previous connection it had with Gardener (and his plagiarism of Crowley's works) and the O.T.O almost entirely. Wicca is a copy of a copy of a magical system which removed the Abrahamic entities from the equation and stitched in Celtic pagan influences instead. The fact is, if you want something that will really aid you in divination look of Isreal Regardie, Rabbi Lamed Ben Clifford, Robert Anton Wilson or Poke Runyon. These gentlemen are the catalysts for magic and divination in the modern age. The lack of female influence in the occult, outside of Dion Fortune, is mainly due to the fact that most magical groups were fraternities and accepted only males. Rosecrucions, Freemasons and other groups still only have male-only attendance, excluding the now fragmented Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. This has lead to Wicca drawing a heavy crowd of women and girls alike due to it's emphasis on Goddess worship, or Goddess domination. Granted, this is not why I dislike Wicca but rather because it is so chalk full of misinformation that it might as well be a story book for children. You DON'T need to dance in the rain in order to cast a "spell", nor do you need to have herbs in order to banish a negative thought. Everything you need for magic and divination is already inside of you and around you, and it's your job to discover it. No, I am not role-playing as Twilight Sparkle.
I tried this but now there is a weird black cloud hovering in my room and it won't leave should I offer it coffee or something wat do?
Um, while the info given above isn't exactly clear, I would just like to add a note as beliefs tend to vary from person to person and group to group, and so what i have to offer is simply my groups take on such things, and only to be considered as an opinion on how to perform such things. Some find blind divination is dangerous if not done correctly or all willy nilly. Excessive use causes the source to stop relaying practical information to the reader and just starts to give false info that appeals to them instead. As well, be careful doing this with no practice, the powers that be that'll guide you and the cards may not have your best intentions, and again give you false information to guide you on a path they want, sometimes just to troll. If you ever try for yourself, and are overcome with a foreboding or nauseous feeling, just set the cards down and reset the energy of the space. Also do this as a reserved practice, like once a month (day can really vary between individuals).
So what kind of drugs do you do before you start this? Or are we operating on the simulated universe theory and you guys are hacking reality?
Tarrot cards you fool! Jesus Christ, I'm not in that group, my mom isn't yet she can tell my future (In a weird way, its really hard for me to explain but whatever). For example, I need to get stuff down in my school and I didn't, one night I asked my mom to do the card thing on me again and from what I saw I needed to take more responsibility. Now you do not need drugs, and I do not know why people make fun of this stuff, your missing out. Now what I have said may not have made sense so far but I honestly just don't care. I believe that everyone has some form of energy (Not Dragonball Z you idiots) and that spirits are real and what not. Di I actually believe in mythes, yes I do. And Sir_Pony, I will take that advice.
I have a question, is this divination thing part of a specific religion or is believing in it like being part of a religion? Because I'd like to know more about it. I'm not going to take part in it being a Christian but I would like to know more. Also are Tarrot cards the same as using, say, a Ouija Board are they all connected? Because the two sound sorta similar.
It's not associated to just one religion, but if I had to name one it's strongly tied with it'd be Qabalah (not sure if its actually considered a religion though). As for believing in it, I think its up to the individual to decide what that means to them, I personally think everyone can believe in magic no matter what there beliefs are. Quick note- A while back some Christians did like some of the overlap with Qabalah and created the Christian Cabalah group Tarrot cards are commonly used for divination Oujia Boards are commonly used to communicate with the dead.... Please dont try and speak with the dead Also Blade Runner, I thank you Actually running on the multiverse theory, and simply drawing certain resources from another universe
