I would say yes, for the most part. I thought the whole idea of an OC was to create a character that's a ponified version of yourself, personality and all.
Well, Eight Star has my long, straight hair, creepy evil genius grin, and my long feminine eyelashes... but that's as far as it goes.
Well, I don't have an OC for MLP. However I do have a ton of OC's from my stories (All of which are human, these are made well before I was a Brony.) One day, I'll transform my OC's (Or at least the ones that resemble me) into Ponies.
Nothing like me. xD She's the opposite gender, she has a yellowish-green mane and tail, and... Well, the fact she's a pony too... Ooh, also, I have a beard. Yeah, we've got our differences.
Medium length brown hair, bluey/purpley eye colour, a big appendage, and a relatively healthy body? Yep, pretty much I guess.
Besides being my favorite shade of blue, I tried to make him like me. Except Zephy doesn't wear glasses and his hair is much cooler than me.
well, in physical looks now (my oc is on ma avatar). I have (irl) dark skin (i'm half black, half white... I have skin color kinda like Obama), I have dark brown short hair. only thing is brown eyes. however, my oc reflects my personality. Bright cheerful colors, always with a smile and looking where he can cheer up somepony, or make a lame pun. (oh yeah, i've picked colors, but then my fiend Spiral Heart (from Croaita Bronies) helped me chose right shades of green and yellow, so he looks more warm and cheerful). oh yeah cutie mark is obvious one (for anyone that knows me personally).
My Pony doesn't look like me, but when I made Blazin' he was a very close copy of me personality wise, but there are things I left out in his personality though. But basically I'm wild, funny, outgoing, and have a strong sense of leadership and have high patience.
Darkstar looks nothing like me. He doesn't wear glasses and doesn't have dark blonde hair. He does however, share my skinny ass appearance. We also both slay demons from Hell.

Well i tried for her to look like me, but im more chubby than her, i have 2 piercings and a tattoo, that i thought would not fit in with her and the whole mlp world. Well... i do have blonde-brownish hair (a little darker than hers) and the eyecolor fits exactly, for i do have bright green eyes. For the personality to be honest i havent thought much about it, except that i want to resemble my RL personality. So shes loud, makes a lot of jokes, is mostly cheerfull and always cares for the people who are important to her.
