I've been thinking about this a lot lately.

I have, officially, lost my love towards the pencil. It was, basically, my only tool for drawing on paper, but now whenever I pick it up i don't have the will to draw - at all. It's like I reached the point at which i can say I dislike drawing as in a whole. But, sometimes i pick up a drawing on the internet, and load it via Photoshop (Most likely anime-ish and stuff), and i edit it, adding more shades and whatnot to it. I like doing it, as i really like using the shape tool and the brush tool (Photoshoppers will know what these are). Is digital the only way for me now? Or can i stick to both?

Now, I ask you what would be the best for me to save my (partly) love for art i had since the beginning of my life? IS there any way to save it? Any suggestions would be really welcome, since i don't want to "spoil" the little bit of "skill" i already have. Should I change my style, maybe? Or should I just leave the ship of art sale forth, leaving me here to find some other hobby I might be good at?

If you enjoy doing something, then do it. If you've lost your will to do something you enjoy, try something different. Easy peasy.

It's not that easy. My father is an artist and my brother is an artist. I'm surrounded with art. I wake up and first thing i see is a picture my dad did. I am bound to it. BUT, if you're saying it like that, then i can leave it.

That's kinds like me, I used to draw / be a cartoonist many years ago I have tons of art I did on my Facebook.

However I lost the will to do it, an I did one thing you do.

    Photoshop!

I learnt photoshop! You've seen my art from that desktop. Some of my other digital art goes beyond that. There's so much you can do in photoshop & crate is unreal - maybe move to that & learn more on cresting your own digital art work

Maybe the fact that you're surrounded by art has something to do with it. Like, too much of a good thing. I am in no way saying I am definitely right, but maybe you should leave drawing for a while. Perhaps art all together (only because seeing other people's art makes me want to draw myself, although you may be different).

The time away could help you regain that love for it. I love drawing myself, but I only ever do so when I have an artistic idea. Otherwise, I feel like I'm just drawing lines on a piece of paper (or a computer screen). When you notice you actually want to draw, you may find your love for it again.

I would like to see you draw again, you're a fantastic artist, and the art world would indeed suffer without you. But as I said, I can't say for sure what will work and what won't, I can only say what I think (and hope).

    Hope it all works out.

Well, you're telling me to move on Photoshop. Kinda funny, because Photoshop has been my tool of use since 2002, when Photoshop v7 came out. Ever since then, I did draw with it - but only with a mouse.

Thank you. Hopefully you're right, and i should just leave it hanging for the next few weeks. Though, I haven't really drawn anything in the past few weeks too...

Well, scenery doesn't really give me anything to draw. I don't really like drawing scenery. A break would be effective.

Thank you all for the responses. I appreciate them.
