Greetings Everypony! Some of you may know me, others don't. I am Eight Star, general unicorn artist, fanfic moderator, RP moderator, linguist, and hardly interesting. What I've brought you here for is a competition. One that will test your artistic prowess... be it by image, sound, or literature. The Goal: To create a piece of art which most closely resembles the subject matter. Each month I will give an ambiguous subject, and you ponies will try to come up with something that resembles the subject. The simplest thing would be a drawing, digital or traditional, that is uploaded and then PM'd to me. However, I encourage musicians and writers to, if they feel so inspired, feel free to try their hoof at it. The Prize: One of many items. The main prize I had intended was that the winner got to plot out your own fan fiction and I would write it, while the runner ups would get spots in the fiction. Other than that, the winner can choose to, instead, receive a Steam Game valued up to $30, or they could order a pony-related commission that I would pay for, (up to $30,) or we could discuss any number of items. How Submissions Are Judged: Me and a team of two un-biased experts, (because they don't know you ponies,) will grade works on skill, calculated effort, and how well the submission matches the subject. Skill will account for up to 6 points, effort will account for up to 4 points, and submission creatively matching the subject will account for up to 10 points. So, ponies of any skill level are encouraged to enter, as long as you can get creative with the topic. While one pony may submit more than one item in a month, only the last item submitted will be judged for your placing. Submission Times & Methods: You have the option of sending your submission through PM, or if you're confident with everypony seeing it before the deadline, you may post it here. Submissions must have been started and finished during the month that the subject is in play. Submissions do not have to be specifically for this contest to be posted as long as they follow the time constraints. The deadline for each month is precisely the time that, in EST, the calendar month changes. Given the month-long deadline, leeway will only be given under very rare circumstances. March's Subject: The subject for the month of March is: Impossible Luck Questions?
Hey, I was pretty much correct. It's been just before 2 weeks or process. Slow, slow process because half the time I never did it, too busy/ talking. Time taken: Roughly 3-4 hours. Layers: 38 Yes, shading failed several times, but oh well.
I might join this...but i dont have any fancy stuff...just paper and pencil...and my phone to take pics..plus march has ended :/
Okay, so... I'm not going to post the scores, for reasons, but _Chat_ ended up winning by about 3 points. Congratulations Chat on your Victory! Chat has elected to pass his prize on to Tech Tea. Chat hasCha
