I'm hoping that this doesn't end up like the last one, with a bunch of people whining that the show is being ruined forever. Actually, scratch that. I want it to go exactly like it did last time. Fandom drama is hilarious.

While I did enjoy the first movie despite its faults, I think it derived most of its humor from Twilight interacting with the human world. So yeah, I don't know. Will Twilight go back or will the story just focus on the human characters (and Sunset Shimmer) this time? Or even human Twilight? I actually wouldn't mind seeing a continuation, but I can't say that I'm terribly interested in this battle of the bands thing. The next movie having an actual story would be nice for a change.
1. That Description sounds like an 8 year old getting excited over the toys, not a movie. 2. Eh...The first film was entertaining but nothing I'd write home about. The song in the middle was damn catchy and I liked how the writers did try and have some thought put into the comedy and such. Although...I'd articulated my meh towards that film. I only hope for not more of the same. A more fulfilling plot that doesn't feel too much like we're just forcing Twilight into another world just for stuff to happen would be grand. More exploration of this world would be lovely. A moment when Twilight has to meet the Twilight she's replaced maybe? There's room to expand, me thinks. Plus, more humanised Background Ponies. That was kinda fun to see. Maybe Changelings or Discord!

I thought this was all still mostly rumors at this point. I'll be more likely to believe it's happening when someone who works on the show says it will happen. For now, all we have is someone saying they think the toy line will inspire a movie, and that you should believe them that they overheard it from someone who is reliable.
You're right, the title should have been "kinda sorta confirmed". But given the clues that are on the new toy's box art, I think it's hard to not expect it. Hasbro does release lines every now and again that never show up in a show or feature, but it doesn't happen too often. At least, not since they've actually started taking their G4 toys a bit more seriously. :derpe:
That video made my day. I probably won't watch it, same with the first one. Personally, i've always thought the concept of turning the ponies in to humans was stupid, even before equestria girls when it was only done in fan art and fan fiction. In my opinion, the fact that they're ponies instead of human is one of the things that makes the show unique for me. Someone told me that Equestria Girls is pretty much Hasbro's way of saying "ok bronies, you win! you can have My Little Pony. But we're gonna make this other show that's gonna be for the girls." It does make sense. Any one else notice the rise in fight scenes in season 4?
