It's been roughly two months since I got into MLP: Friendship is magic, yet I don't think I have yet reached a level of appreciation for the series that others here and elsewhere have. Mostly, I consider myself to be missing something that others in the fandom are already familiar with or embrace completely - something that I would like to get into as well. What I am trying to say is that despite liking the show and acknowledging the admirable composition of our community, I have very little information or content on fan works or projects. This thread was made so that others like me - those familiar with ponies, but uninitiated within the fandom or its community - could get more information or content that would aid them along an enlightened path. A 'starter kit' for bronies, essentially. What this 'starter kit' would do is introduce such bronies to media or sites that would help them become more familiar with the make-up and history of the FiM fan community. Just a quick run-down on what I wish to get from this thread... The Poninets: The best pony-related websites and resources available on the Worldwide Web. Equestria Daily - The largest MLP news and media site for fans on the Internet. Derpyhooves.com - Fan news site that reports on happenings in the fandom. Suggested Reading: Fan-fictions, blogs, and other written media that one should not miss. 'Ask a Pony' tumblr - pony blogs, written in-character The Brony Blog - An up-and-coming blog about ponies, from a brony perspective. FiM Fiction - a growing collection of MLP-inspired fan fictions Pony-graphy: Great drawings, comics, and crafts that everypony has to see. Ponibooru - A collection of pony-related images and drawings. Poniesplus on DeviantArt - Fine pony art for your viewing pleasure. Now Playing: Fan-made and other popular pony videos, music, and games. Youtube - With the right search terms, you too can find tons of pony videos and music here. Equestria Gaming - A news site dedicated specifically to MLP: FiM-related video games. Everypony Radio - Features plenty of pony-inspired and brony-created music on its channel. Progress Bar: Recommended pony downloads for computers and mobile devices. Desktop Ponies - Wish you could have ponies run aimlessly across your desktop? Now you can. /brohoof: Community resources for bronies - things like forums, groups, and events. Ponychan - an imageboard for fans of MLP: FiM RainbowDash.net - A microblogging site for bronies. Flankbook - Social networking for bronies, by bronies. For the Record: Important and inspiring stories or news within the fandom and brony community. Silly Feelies: Where to find and obtain a piece of pony for yourself, whether official or unofficial merch. Your local department stores should carry ponies, if they're decent. Online auction and shopping sites like eBay and Amazon are also likely to have ponies. Merchandise is easy to come by... check in the toy section in department stores or make eBay (the legal black market (TM)) and Amazon your best friends.... As for art, DeviantArt is one of the best places.... and since I might go out on a limb here... FurAffinity. Technically the MLP: FIM series is based on a set of horses, which are animals, and making some fans identify themselves with furries and the like, despite the negative connotations. A good place to start for research is the official site for the series, as well as Wikipedia (but be guarded about what you read there). Hope this helps!
Hmmm...did you search for Equestria Daliy? There Plenty of that stuff there. :3 http://www.equestriadaily.com/ There's also Derpyhooves.com. It has forum links out the Wazzoo!
For art, ponibooru.413chan.net is the place. It's a danbooru-based board, so I assume you don't need help with that. For music, Everypony Media has most of the good stuff. Otnerwise, youtube search. For everything else, Equestria Daily (EqD) has all you need, including fangame updates. Equestria Gaming also has said fangames (linked above). There's also some fanart on danbooru that I have not seen on ponibooru for some reason, so check all of the boorus.
Like DanSze said, EQ is important... Readings, (fanfics) are plenty on DA and EQ, if you come across fellow bronies on DA you should be able to find such fanfics, and EQ has many excellent fanfics posted as well. For drawings, comics, and the sort... EQ, Ponibooru, DA, and the sort are useful. The pony videos, are best found by searching on youtube, if not displayed on EQ... and there are plenty of them posted here as well. Reccomended pony downloads and the sort, would also be found on EQ and forums... Other forums, groups, and events, as well... there are some posted on EQ, some posted/affiliated to these forums, and tumblr is also a good place to go, for example, the ask Vinyl Sratch/Octavia ones, which are popular. ^_^ Other brony stories, are best found here on forums... and for the merch, eBay is a good place to search... and on DA, there are many brony artisans, but it's best to find references from forums instead of searching, as that's.... difficult to say the least.

Thank you all for providing me with all that info - still, I feel there's something missing. While we have some of the basic things down like where to go and what there is, I think specific examples of something in each category are in order. What I am asking now, if it isn't too much of a hassle, is... ...if you could recommend two or three features/fanfics/pictures/comics/videos/songs/artists to someone who is new to the fandom or that you believe everypony should see for themselves, what would you pick?
