Introduction Welcome Everypony! To our first 'collective' news edition, article, roundup... Thing. Now just to clear things up, these will contain strictly 'Everypony' related news (and possibly affiliation news) - Equestria Daily, Derpyhooves.com and similar sites more than meet our needs for typical brony news - No this is all stuff about you guys, Everypony and of course the radio! A Dash of History Firstly I'd like to just whip through a bit of our early history, it's something I get asked about a lot - who owns the site, how long have you been around etc, etc and while I do plan on adding an FAQ element somewhere in the hopefully not too distant future it can't hurt to give you a brief outline. Spoiler: Wall of Text March 2011, 21st @ 11PM - The first account (mine) was created here on Everypony.com - It was honestly a spur of the moment thing, me, Jaret and TWIF were just talking, three very new bronies hanging out in msn and bam. Someone mentioned brony and then forum and then TWIF realised he had a 'spare' Vbulletin license lying around and I knew how to set it up - He payed for hosting, I did a little leg work and bam. To begin with the site was pretty shocking, we only had the default vbulletin skin and some fluffy rabbit one... Jaret has some emoticons that livened the place up but it was admittedly pretty dire for many weeks to come (don't get me started on the forum rearranging). We gathered members, slowly but surely - doing a lot of failed advertising and striking lucky - A fair few people do actually google 'everypony' and as you can imagine we're right up top of the result list! At around the ~200 mark - We had picked up a lot of the older regulars you see today - many of the first hundred had joined and 'left' - never coming back and actually posting - I don't blame them the forum was pretty chaotic and we had A LOT of bot problems at the time but those who stayed became the foundation of this community for it was at that time when a lot of us, myself included began to actually take the site seriously. We saw a lot of positive reactions in introduction threads, it seemed there weren't a lot of brony forums out there (or perhaps they were hard to find) and before long we getting up to ~300 members a fair few of whom were active enough to keep me and Jaret busy sprucing up the appearance of the forum, installing several chats and generally making the place a cosier community. Now came the 'big bang' - The Radio. We were chilling with our usual 12 chatters in the old chat (now the RP chat) brainstorming little schemes to make the forum grow and convert the world to bronyism when Derpy Hooves and Vinyl Scratch happened to start discussing their music - Before I know it we're signing up for livestream, contacting some artists on youtube and making a small little channel, we thought it'd be popular - we didn't know of any other place like it and we knew the pony community had a lot of good music to offer so thought it worth the venture. I won't bore you with the minor details (the rise and falls/conversion to radio.everypony) - Maybe some other time. This is a news post after all haha. But since the radio and brony day our views have pretty much tripled daily, our registration rate is up by 100-200% and it's ever increasing - so we think it's time we kicked this up a notch, you don't keep something for nothing. [HR][/HR] New Recruits As I mentioned, we've grown a lot over the past few weeks and while we managed before, there's just too many of you for our small little team to handle! That's a good thing of course, but it just means we needed to pick up a few extra hands, particularly over at the radio! Now I want to thank EVERYPONY who applied for a DJ position, believe me - we took our sweet time whittling it down but I hope these three we've chosen will prove to be invaluable to both the community and it's radio, please welcome Robotmaniac, Viperbait and R/Raindrop - To the DJ team! Congratulations guys, yes .. you can tell everypony now! They'll start appearing in the studio under supervision in the coming week and hopefully alone not too long after that, so you'll have 9 DJ's around the clock - I only pray it's enough! Note: We will inevitably need to replace DJ's/Hire more in the future, previous applicants who are still active around the forum will be considered, you need not reapply! [HR][/HR]New Positions On the other hand, not have we recruited we also need to recruit - but in a different section. We've implemented a fiction section/forum mod - For tidier, neater and a more immersive Fan-Fiction publishing and commenting solution - More on that in a sec. But we'll be needing a handful (2-5) Pre-Readers/Fiction Moderators. You'll need an hour of free time a day or so (2hrs every 2 days is good to). You'll be required to read and assess the quality of submitted fanfics and 'approve' or 'decline' them as appropriate. You'll need to be active and reliable - You can't just not read any for a week without giving us some warning. Have experience in and enjoy reading fanfics, you DO NOT need to write them - It's actually better if you don't - Since you shouldn't moderate your own. Those interested should PM me! We'll also be needing 1-2 Roleplay Chat Moderators You'll need to be an active, trusted and mature roleplayer in our rp chat. Active on the forums. Those interested should PM Oatmeal [HR][/HR] New Fan-Fiction Section A while a go Bamboo asked me to sort the then neglected Fan-Fiction forums into sub forums, namely a development one and a showcase one. However she also mentioned implementing a more appropriate system for fics - what exactly she said I must admit I've forgot but I have now, at long last found a useful Vbulletin modification and adapted it to suit our needs and boy I think it works almost too well! Much like EqD work must be submitted and approved (also finished and of reasonable quality). As for browsers and/or readers you can search for fics by categories, views and number of comments - As well as take note of our most contributing authors! The great thing about this is it's out of the way and collective if you want fics they're all there all in one neat little hub with a smashing layout but they won't be plastered all over the forum or on the home page so non fic fans needn't worry! I'll be revealing the system later this week once we have our new fic mods so get writing bronies! ---- Plans For the Future We have a few things install for everypony.com and the radio in the near future, as we've mentioned before we're now hard at work organising our library and DJ team into a more predictable schedule system, where viewers will actually be able to make use og our forum calendar to see in sdvance when a DJ is expected to go on air or a certain marathon will play. On a similar note marathons and other radio events such ss broadcasts are still planned to increase in number, in fact if you guys have any bright ideas on what we could talk about or show on the stream do please chuck us an email st the usual radio@everypony.com! ---- We also plan to open up a sitesubbed merch store to provide those of our truly hardcore loyal elite to support us wherever they go with bags, shirts, mugs and more bearing the radio and forum name! In line with our no profit policy - 100% of the small $1-2 we make on each item will go directly to Virgil who has kindly agreed to design all the vectors on our merch seeing as Hasbro will bust our ass if we use canon ponies! Hmm I wish there was something I would be willing to submit an application for. I thought about Fan-fiction pre-reader, but I haven't read enough to know the difference between good or bad. I'll keep an eye out for some other way I can help out. I intend to remain a regular here.

I'd do the fan fiction thing. I don't write them, but I'd be fine at reading them. I don't read them for entertainment, so I wouldn't have any bias. But yeah, just offering. And congratulations to the new DJs!

Well, a mere amount of months have passed by... What, this all started in March, and it's July? That's 4 months. Much has changed ever since. I remember, we had so much crazy ideas back in the day... Whew, it's too much to count. Few of them went through, though. I think this post is really important. It means a lot, since it's a recap of my past 4 months with you Grey, and Twif (well, a bit) working on a project like this all the time. And no, I am not referring to WCAND :3

Hurray! We've anounced it! Yes, I am going down to my Credit Union tomorrow to discuss a strategy for getting set up with Paypal. Once complete, I will begin making art for Everypony to be made into all sorts of fun things to own and have around the house! I can't wait to start!
Awesome idea with the Everypony News! Congratulations to the three new DJ's. I'm sure they'll all be fantastic! We'll see if we think the same with the upcoming collaborations :derpe:. I found it very interesting to read about the history of the site. So glad that the site has exceeded your expectations. I'm happy that I can be a part of it, and I intend to continue being an active member. College shan't stand in my way! Ah. Everypony News. I like this idea! It was a very interesting and informative read. Congratulations to the three new DJ's and I'd like to thank all the DJ's, moderators and administrators for all their hard work in making this site as awesome as it is. Great job! I'll be looking forward to the new things that are in store for EPR and the forums.
