In another attempt to be constructive to the forums (and because i was bored ), i decided to make an alphabetically organized list of background ponies who have been named by fans. Important? Not really. Useful? Maybe. Interesting? That's for you to decide. NOTES: 1) DJ Pon-3 became an officially named pony during the Equestria Girls commercial and the iPhone commercial, therefore she will not be added to this list. I could add Vinyl Scratch as a filly, but she never appeared in the actual show, so i'll have to let her fans down. 2) I would add images for all of them, but apparently there's a 10 image limit per post. 3) I most likely forgot a few, so if you want me to add any others, please post the following: - Name(s) (make sure the name isn't official. That's not what this list is for) - Appearance (you can post a picture if you have good full body pic) - List of appearances in the series. - Fun facts, if any. You may also provide more information on characters i already added. 4) For those who will most likely ask: Yes, i did refer to MLP Wikia to make this list. This list is made entirely for fan-named characters only and possible related memes, unlike the Wikia, which lists all of the background characters and little to no information on them. If there is an official character in my list that isn't fan-named, please notify me and it will be removed. **Due to the image limit, i can not add any more pictures. Spoiler: Fan-named Pony List Ace Stallion Earth Pony Seen in Call of the Cutie. Not much is known other than he's a tennis player, but is often mistaken as the ponified Chuck Norris because of his appearance. --- Aloe Mare Earth Pony One of the two spa ponies tending to (mostly) Rarity in several episodes. She has a pink coat and light-blue mane. Her cutie mark is a white flower. --- Archer Bodkin Filly Earth Pony One of the lesser known side characters, yet mentionable. She is the "blue Scootaloo" seen in Applebloom's class in Call of the Cutie. Her cutie mark is a bow & arrow. --- Berry Punch / Juicy Fruit Mare Earth Pony Berry Punch was named so after her appearance in Call of the Cutie, when she was seen sipping from a bowl of punch without pouring it in a cup. "Berry Punch the Alcoholic" also became a meme because of this. Juicy Fruit is one of her less favorited fan-given names. --- Blinkie Pie / Pinchie Pie / Inkie Pie / Maggie Pie Fillies Earth Ponies These fan-made names have been given to Pinkie Pie's sisters in the Cutie Mark Chronicles. One has a dark grey coat and light grey mane, while the other one has a light grey coat and dark grey mane. They do not have cutie marks. --- Bon Bon Mare Earth Pony Bon Bon is one of the more well-known side characters, and was given the name because she resembles one of the ponies from a previous generation. She is usually seen alongside Lyra. --- Carrot Top Mare Earth Pony Also seen in various episodes, though with different designs. Usually yellow and orange as seen in the picture above, she has a moss-green mane in the Boast Busters, most likely for an anecdote involving Rarity's "horrible green hair". --- Cloud Kicker Mare Pegasus Seen in various episodes and often mistaken for Derpy Hooves, as they share similar appearances. Like Derpy Hooves, she has also been spotted cross-eyed one time in Griffon The Brush-off. --- Colgate Mare Earth Pony Most known and named by fans for her appearance, which resembles toothpaste. She is the origin of the "Brushie" meme which possibly started when she was seen brushing one of the animal's homes during Winter Wrap Up. --- Derpy Hooves Mare Pegasus Possibly the most known of background characters. She was named Derpy Hooves by fans after being spotted with googly eyes, which turned out to be the result of an animation error. She was often drawn in fanart as a mailpony, and in response, has officially been made a delivery service pony by the creators of the show. During Winter Wrap Up, there was a reference to a pony resembling Derpy Hooves, but was named Ditzy Doo. The connection between these two, if any, has not been officially made, hence her name remains the fan-made Derpy Hooves for now. --- Dr. Whooves Stallion Earth Pony / Pegasus (once) Closely resembling the fictional character Dr. Who, Dr. Whooves has been spotted in several episodes, and established a Dr. Who meme which eventually made a close link between the two shows. Even though he usually is an earth pony, his design was once used with wings in The Sonic Rainboom. Like Derpy Hooves, he is one of the most known fan-named characters. --- Dumb-bell Stallion Pegasus One of the Cloudsdale pegasus ponies who used to be in Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy's class. He is the leader of a small gang of bullies, and has been seen alongside them in The Sonic Rainboom and Cutie Mark Chronicles. --- Hoops Stallion Pegasus One of the dumber bullies reffered to in Dumb-bell's description. He usually only adds a similar opinion when Dumb-bell insults someone. He has a light-brown coat with a dark-brown mane covering his eyes. He has three basket balls as a cutie mark. --- Lily Mare Earth Pony Often mistaken for an officially named pony, Lily is still a fan-given name. She is often seen as part of a trio of flower sisters, one being the officially named Daisy. --- Lyra / Skyra Mare Unicorn / Pegasus Lyra is usually seen alongside Bon Bon, and was likely named due to her cutie mark being a musical instrument. While believed to be a resident of Ponyville, she has had several appearances at Canterlot. Once in the pilot episode, seen waving at Twilight, and once more during Twilight's flashback in Cutie Mark Chronicles. She is, in combination with Bon Bon, one of the most popular background characters. Her design was used once for a pegasus pony, which was named Skyra by fans to separate the two. --- Octavia Mare Earth Pony Also one of the more popular background characters. She appears in various fanarts and fan-made music. She is usually drawn as a friend of DJ Pon-3, sharing their passion for different styles of music. her first, and so far only appearance is in the Best Night Ever, performing as a fancy musician. --- Raindrops Mare Pegasus One of the lesser known background characters, she is seen only once alongside Derpy Hooves, during the comical scene of Derpy dropping various objects on Twilight's head. Her appearance is similar to Derpy Hooves, except for the color palette. She has a light-yellow coat and cyan mane. She has three raindrops as a cutie mark. --- Score Stallion Pegasus One of the jock bullies in Dumb-bell's group. He is seen making fun of Rainbow Dash alongside Dumb-bell and Hoops, but has not uttered a single word so far. He has a grey coat, black mane covering his eyes similar to Hoops, and has footballs as a cutie mark. --- i spent alot of time on this, and hope to make a good effort to keep this list known to our members, so at least say it's nice.
It's - nice. Seriously, good job. The only ones I can think of naming off the top of my head is Soarin and Spitfire. Although, I guess they don't count, as I think those are official names, and you're making a list of fan named ponies - right?
