here you tell us your favorite book my favorite is here there be dragons 1 word awesome im reading it right now its awesome now tell me yours =)
I don't have a favourite book, as so much a favourite book series. The "Skulduggery Pleasant" novels by Derek Landy are an enjoyable book series, the latest of which has been released on World Book Day. I can recommend them to just about anyone for their wit, storyline and action, especially to those who like the Harry Potter series.
I'm with poetic on this one, Book Series describes about how much I read. E.E. Knight's Age of Fire series is amazing. I also recommend Warhammer 40k/Fantasy books to those that enjoy tones of action and gore.
I don't read much but I do enjoy a good book when I actually get into one. I enjoyed the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter books (yes, I know these books are mainstream) but the book I've enjoyed most (at the time) was the Hungry Caterpillar. It's one of my greatest childhood memories.
I haven't read for a long time now. Last book I read was the little prince. I haven't read enough to consider a favorite book
I don't read a whole lot, but of the ones I've read, the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan is my favorite.
Sci-Fi: Frank Herbert's Dune series (This does NOT include the drivel his son wrote from his notes) Comedy: The Hitchhikker's Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams Fantasy: All the Drizzt books from R.A. Salvatore - the early ones are the best.
The Lord of the Rings series are easily my favorite books ever. I don't know if I could pick just one of them. The Hobbit and The Silmarillion are also good books. Following those, any Star Wars expanded universe novels, The Lost Years of Merlin series, the Harry Potter series, Catch 22, The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird, A Wizard of Earthsea, are all things I enjoy. EDIT: This belongs in the Literature section, however.
My favourite series is the "Left Behind" Series. It takes prophecies about the end of the world out of the bible and the authors made it into a gripping thriller. It is by far the best series I've ever read.
I've always wanted to read a stephen king book. The library at my school has them but I would prefer to read them in english.
My favourite would have to be the "His Dark Materials" series. On the outside its sorta a young adult book, but when you go deeper and figure out what its all about, it becomes a total adult read. It pretty much paints the church as an organization out to kill individualism and freedom, God and his Angels as actual beings, determined to keep power, and describes a revolution against Gods Kingdom, in which a couple of kids lead to the killing of god and redesign of the kingdom of Heaven. Oh, and theres a fight to the death between two polar bear warlords. Its intense.
I love this book and even the fact that I have a high Phobia with Hell, I love this book. It's makes you think a lot that you really don't want to go to hell, which I never want to go to anyway. This Book is Messed up but Good for that matter.
i can only think of two books i always end up rereading The redemption of Althalus, By David and Leigh Eddings Metro 2033, by dmitry glukhovsky
Have you tried the Wheel of Time series? I think you might really like it. To me, it feels similar to LOTR in style.
A favorite book! But there are just too many, and far too many genres, how could I ever choose? Well, here's a few nice ones off the top of my head, although I'm not sure any of these would qualify as a favorite: A nice light read that has stuck with me a long time has been 'Watership Down'. 'A Game of Thrones' is also pretty good, albeit a massive doorstopper fantasy series. A lighter sci-fi-ish book would be 'Timeline' by Michael Crichton. Of course, there is Catch 22, Siddharta, and Fareinheit 451 (2 of those titles are misspellings, but I am lazy), but those are classics and probably shouldn't be listed here. As for comedies, I suggest "Good Omens". Seriously, 'Good Omens' is amazing.
