Why not read some of my stuff to relieve yourself of that horror If you want to that is. I myself have been more or less hiding from FiMfiction because people want me to update a story that I can't think of an update to...but I want to update it too but i just can't think it up right...
I would gladly read your writing. I get the idea for something but then I'm like, "eh. I have better things to do."
I didn't think Rainbow Factory was really that bad. But if you like Fimfictions then you should read "Past Sins", "Trains Carriages and Airships" and "My Sister Fluttershy" and "Letters from a disgruntled friendship student" Those are my personal favourites and most of them are pretty short!
I didn't like that story. It tried to be horror for the sake of horror, and didn't sell the minimalistic plot that well. I'm told it's based entirely on the song, but it really didn't 'go anywhere.' If you want something on a lighter note to read, I recommend Allegrezza or The Ballad of Twilight Sparkle.
I don't read grimdark or stories that involve death, murder and blood but just like with Cupcakes and Sweet Apple Massacre i've heard about Rainbow Factory but have never read it and I don't plan to anytime soon. Although I did like the Rainbow Dash Presents version of both Cupcakes and Rainbow Factory.
Actually, watch the Rainbow Dash Presents on Rainbow Factory. It's hilarious, and simply points out all the problems in the story. Also, the RDP messes with the story a bit for humor's value. It's under shows on dawnsomewhere.com and I promise it'll be worth your time. Oh, also, I am on FiMFiction, but I haven't found that the community there is as nice as most pony communities. I've found a correlation between how nice people are and what content is available on a site. Also, I almost didn't post my newest story because they didn't like me using font colors for characters... but I have it here on EP, so I don't care what they say.
I felt like you when I read Rainbow Factory for the first time as well... I would do what what Eight Star suggested. That video is absolutely hilarious and should definitely cheer you up!
Rainbow Factory wasn't that bad. Believe me, there is worse. Much worse. But yes, at least on FiMFiction you have the tags system to at least warn you of something that shouldn't be read. Although I understand curiosity often trumps good judgment. The story will fade from your memory, given enough time.
