Hey Everypony I could really use some advice. I have got a plan to create for my school assignment a Brony Documentary that at last has a host who knows what the yay he is talking about, me. Or maybe an actor I direct. But I need to find real life bronies I can interview on camera. Anyway that's just for context of the real question. How can I find these bronies, at what stables do they congregate? Have any of you attempted to find other bronies, or have you been lucky enough to have brony friends already?

I have already tried one idea today and will need to wait and see if it works. I have made and put this flyer on bulletin boards at my school and at my favourite geek shop.

Next I am going to try creating a meetup group, on the website for my city, I searched it already and found no pony or brony groups, so maybe I could be the first and official one for my city. The ego trip that would give me would make me better then any of those other bronies, lol.

Hehe, awesome idea about the flyer. If someone knows, he's a brony. Where do you live? I ask so i'd know the chances of the percentage of bronies there.

Just a random idea, might not work, but what if some of the users here asked their bronies questions, and sent the footage to you? You could tell them the questions to be asked. I don't know what the assignment is, however, so it might be that you have to be asking the questions.

    As stated, just an idea.

That would be fine, for free lance work, lupony. But my assignment would require the camera work to be done by my own crew. However if my pitch for this to be produced is rejected I think I'll probably do it on my own anyway, in which case video sent online would be fine. We will see what happens.

How about this Setz. I could ask about some of the other places I frequent on the internet, asking for any bronies in the Perth area. I'd direct them here, and remind them they'd be doing you a favour. Would that be any help at all?

I would greatly appreciate that Lupony. I'm wasn't even sure if other Perth Bronies existed, I was just hoping. If you know any, TELL ME TELL ME TELL ME TELL ME!

Well if you're looking for them in your area, you could always take a look through the Facebook group

Why not use a strange, but subtle gesticulation when introducing ourselves. You know, sort of like a secret handshake.

We sort of already have this. It's called a brohoof.

And you really can't create a unique handshake without fingers I guess it would help to create a universal handshake, since a brohoof is sort of simple.

Sometimes the simplest things are the best
As you said, without fingers it's a bit of a challenge to come up with anything more complicated

Perhaps it could be paired with a saying or something. Maybe just something completely not out of the ordinary but unique as well.

    Okie-Dokie-Lokie
    20% Coller
    10 Seconds Flat
    O hay there
Rainbow Dash is the best pony
    Stuff like this.

    Why not just say "Brohoof"
I mean that's what it is so....

Turns out making a meetup group costs money so that's not an option. Maybe I should just order a Fluttershy shirt and wear it proudly. I will be fully outed and maybe ridiculed, but if any bronies are around they will flock too me. Besides I'm in a university with most students over 20 years old. I should hope they would be open minded. Or they will think I'm gay. People thinking I'm gay tends to be a first impression anyway so nothing will change I guess.

I also have a friend who I call Silly Willy, his name is William. I could start calling him Silly Filly Willy and see if anyone picks up on it.

Thanks for the suggestions everypony, I have now gone into more detail about my assignment in this thread and am interested in any further suggestions you have to find brionies or film this documentary. http://www.everypony.com/forums/showthread.php?567-Brony-Documentary-by-a-Brony-it-s-time!

As for your suggestions, they are great but I would strictly need to have a full crew be involved, sound recordist, camera man and boom operator, so no online video. But if my pitch for this documentary is rejected by my lecturers, online videos, whether by chat or whatever would be fine for getting this documentary made.

I might just hire (Yes, I would hire someone) someone to put those up anonymously, with school permission, and list an alternate disposable email to see what happens.
Mind if I use your poster, except with a different email?
(My grandmother has a printer, so I don't need to fret about using the printer at home)

Anyone can use my poster. The original document is lost now though as I made it on a school computer. I only have hard copies now. I of course deliberately hid the email with that coin so that no one that isn't local doesn't email me.

I would use a disposable email, and do you have a source for the image at the top?
