The year is 2025, and the world gets screwed. We saw it coming about decade before, a asteroid entering our solar system and smashing through the Asteroid Belt into smaller meteorites that were predicted to slam and utter obliterate the surface of the Earth. It was predicted we had a 8 years to come up with a plan and do something to save the world. And we did. The major nations and collectives of the world pooled together money and resources to built a series of super cannons in strategic places around the globe to stop, if not minimize damages. The cannons did well. They stopped enough to only massively damage 30% of the world and end about 40% of the world's population. But alas, mankind is not vanquished so easily. Though, most nations still stand, the economy has crashed, many alliances have been broken, and many left refugee'd by the event. Sections of the world were made to help house the refugees but conditions deplorable and rebellions are often. Fast forward to now, 2025, and the world is still screwed. Various factions and terrorist cells are rising up in the refugee sections. The US is currently in the process of annexing Mexico and Canada into one massive super country, Eastern Europe is still in flames over borders and resources while Western Europe lies in a sort of Cold War status against themselves, Russia and China are waging a massive war across the entire Asian continent, and Africa and South America has been engulfed in war as many factions rise to make their claims to power. Too make everything cherry, someone's handing out dirty bombs and nukes like candy to almost every standing army vying for power. What's left of UN doesn't want this. Inspectors are sent out, and many factions don't want this. The world's looking pretty peachy today. tl;dr: Near future RP after near Apocalypse, world's going to hell afterwords. I am planning on have big map for this RP and help sculpt out this violent world with the help of the RPs. I'm also planning on letting people plays as a faction leader or a UN inspector.
