I might be going incredibly blind, or is there really no obvious link to this website's rules? I'm sure most forum rules are common knowledge, but i've litteraly checked every logical place for them to be posted, and can't find them anywhere. I'm sure no one likes to be told to follow rules. But every website needs them and they should be easy to find for everyone.

Alot of new members who join a forum usually want to take a look at the rules the staff want them to follow (at least, i assume they do). It's a bit inconvenient if no one can find them.

Again, I might be overlooking the obvious... (happens to me alot. :derpe:)

In the new navbar, there is a button labelled "Help". I believe your questions will be answered there.

EDIT: I knew I was going to get ninja'd

Don't blame me! The Navbar has been gone a long time. XD

Still, a link to those rules on top of the Introductions section wouldn't be a bad idea. New members need guidance when they join, imo.

It's a fair point. The old one had the word "Rules", so you were probably looking for something like that. But I think that "Help" is a better word for what the button links to.

Isn't there an automatic 'welcome to the forums' email message? Should have the rules or link, in with..

Not at present, maybe it's something we should look into.
Or something I can add to the "introduce yourself" banner?

Should have a presence somewhere, readily accessible yet unobtrusive.. Something not easily missed by new members. How about a 'rules' subforum posted in the introductions section. It'll show up as a separate section at the top of the page, (better than just a stickied thread there), and you could use the sub-forums link as a 'rules' link in the welcome email.

You should just make it to where as soon as you register, you are immediately linked to the rules. Simple, clean, and ignorance can't be a problem then because they didn't take the time to read it.
