http://www.fox2now.com/videobeta/?watchId=cbf5555f-0451-4615-9b6b-772fa46baf30 Also the "babyman". they say that Bronies quit their jobs to post about MLP all day and try to get on disability. I.... I don't even understand...
It's just Fox being Fox. Didn't even watch it, considering the source. They're as predictable as a straight line.
Good ol' fox. The totally non-corrupt, non-politically bias, not far right news source with legitamite information! Gotta love it. Although that babyman, makes me lose hope for humanity.
I guess this is what all the fuss was about over at EqD - I've got to say, filing for disability to watch ponies (if that's true) is wrong, of course it is. But seriously, his job doesn't look all that hard either, I'm pretty sure I could stand up and slag people off all day every day for a nice fat cheque at the end of the month. Oh wait, no I couldn't... I have a heart <_< Well, uh. I guess Fox wins this round. Censored.
Whelp, I sent Mr. Dave Glover a nice message about being a good Radio DJ when it comes to reporting. Either he'll be smart and probably apologize for falsely reporting or be a bigger dick. I expect the latter.
Did Fox just be insulting , biased and provide non-legitamite information ? Nothing new to see here. basically this.
That is just distasteful. Fox is just... I don't even have words. Do I haaaaaave to love and tolerate them? Blegh, I do don't I? I remember not long ago their tech "expert" tried to compare gaming on the 3DS to the iPhone in the iPhone's favor. You don't compare a dedicated gaming handheld to a phone. This is why I don't watch TV in general, nothing really good on anymore (aside from a few good TV shows ;D) they need to take the time to actually do research. Besides, us hardcore Bronies post from work. XD
Now come on everypony, what they report is fair and balanced. ... It's because of junk like this that I deleted Fox News from my VCRs tuner.
Dont feed them parasprites(truth be told I ain't got no job but that ain't cause ah don't want one)chalk up another reason ah only watch cartoons on tv an go ta EQD and IGN fer all the news I need
I'll just quote my original response. ~ Why does Fox News get away with making reports without researching? Simple researching that anyone could do? Middle school kids could run that so-called news network better. Regarding the man featured before the Bronies slander*, he is on disability for PTSD (result of childhood trauma), a spinal chord injury, and several other things. He had to leave his job at Home Depot because he suffered some kind of a serious injury, a back injury if I remember correctly. When National Geographic ran a report on the guy, they explained a lot of the things I just mentioned. National Geographic should stick with wildlife and science ala "DAMN NATURE, YOU SCARY!" Why do we care about people's personal lives like that? That aside, did What's-His-Nuts not even watch all of the original report? The female roommate is also on disability, for what I forget, but not for obesity, either. And as for the stuff about Bronies, that is completely made up. Probably nobody does that stuff. * Dude's one of the nicest guys ever, but I have no idea why he let himself become a worldwide laughingstock on television. Adding an update to this, in small print because it's still on the other subject, aforementioned man wants to kill himself now. I have a sad feeling that he will, and that people will rejoice. People are encouraging him to kill himself. What's so very stupid is that people keep bringing up his weight, even though he would cost the same if he were 100 pounds. I'm skinny and female, and I know I'm very privileged because of it. I feel like I'm cheating the game of life for it. That man was violently rejected in his childhood and has coping mechanisms that look bizarre. Why should we care what he does? I'd be a hypocrite to not feel sympathy for him, I am a childish woman by nature who also has PTSD from being abused by my parents and particularly my mother. Why albeism, fat-hatred, and condemnation of fetishes is not only accepted but encouraged is beyond me. People should be able to tell that such prejudice is morally wrong!
My grandparents watch Fox News, and I have to roll my eyes every time I visit them when they have it on. It's as if they exist just to make a mockery of people or things they don't like or believe in. They always pick the worst human being from whatever group they want to criticize, throw them in the guest's chair, and then 'interview' them in about the rudest way possible. Then when the guest overreacts like Fox knows they will, they jump all over it and generalize things so that it seems like everyone from that group is as sorry as this person. Its so scripted that I can't even stand to watch it. If their guests aren't paid, then they know exactly who to get in order to get the reactions they want. And then just like this 'babyman' thing, so some guy with a lot of problems is on disability, and watches My Little Pony. Now all of a sudden, they want to say everyone who watches MLP has a lot of problems, and wants to be on disability so they can feed their obsession? The whole network just reeks of generalization, and this story is no exception to that. Just because two people have one thing in common doesn't automatically mean that they are identical to each other, but that's the kind of logic that Fox News preaches.
Seriously, even The Tyra Banks Show is more honest and non-biased than Fox News. Wait, what guy? They never even mentioned such a guy. They just made up generalizations without any sources.
I just assumed that the two topics were related, since they brought up MLP and bronies right after talking about the 'babyman' guy. That and they both involved disability. I was probably mistaken there, but it seemed to me that they were trying to make all bronies look like the 'babyman'. I figured he may have watched MLP, and that's how they were making the link between the two stories.
They (and NPR, sadly) were definitely trying to make bronies look like the "babyman". Insofar as I know, though, he doesn't watch MLP. Methinks people were just trying to lump "childish" all into one continuum. Like I said, I am so bloody privileged to be female. No media coverage ever bullied adult female fans.
Currently on a phone so I can't link anything, but you can probably find it yourself. In a major concession, fox finally agreed that ponies is a better thing to do with your time then terrorism!
Probably got worried over a few angry bronies that they had to make a statement like that. I'm still waiting on Dave Glover to come out and apologize for doing terrible reporting for a Radio DJ (Granted, he's on Fox radio, so my expectations are still low).
