This is the apocalypse, now.... On May 18th 1994, an enormous asteroid impacted Earth in the Gobi Desert that resulted in catastrophic loss of life in Asia. What would then follow is a chain-reaction by the forces of nature that nobody would have ever predicted. This violent radical change from nature would literally change the face of the Earth. Some areas in the world are underwater, Australia had been split into two, some cities were completely abandoned. For the year following the eruption, humanity was on the very brink of extinction. The world as they used to know it, didn't exist anymore. Within a hundred years of the event, which would come to be known as “The Divide” of the New World and the Old World, life on Earth has made one hell of a comeback. Many years after this event, humanity was far smaller than it once was. However, it had survived the apocalypse as they went across the ruins of the old world to build new societies, establish new villages etc. Technology also made enormous advances, helping to rebuild the world. Other races had appeared on this world through natural or artificial mutations, living their lives through whatever means they can. You live in what remains of this broken world. Be it a simple farmer, a law-abiding citizen in a nation of your choice (You can make one up), a ruthless warlord or slaver, anything is possible in this world. However, you will unwillingly become involved in something far greater than anything beyond your wildest dreams that could change the world, for the better or for the worse. (This RP not only encourages race-creation, but also Nation-building.)
