Well, according to the original source, it was posted on College Humor on December 13, 2010. According to the graph on Know Your Meme, back then MLP:FiM was only about 5% as popular as it is today (if I'm interpreting that graph correctly). Statistically speaking, I'd say it's quite unlikely, but I can see where that thought would come from; "unicorn," "magic," "rainbow mane" and what looks like a phoenix's feather on that guys jacket. Although, I hope it isn't because of the 'effect' the rainbow mane is having on the guy at the computer. Other that that, it was still a funny video.
