Territory: See above Nation History: Originally a colony of one of the old Empires, Cantha, it was abandoned 20 years before it's rebirth due to a economic crisis in the mother country. Dorian Seatone, a pirate, later established Albatross' Landing as a safe haven for pirates on their travels. The small illicit port later expanded into a large series of cities, ports, shops, shipyards, you name it, eventually even becoming a lawful establishment. Seatone and his Captain's Council encouraged foreign powers to invest in the growing nation through way of sending trade through them, and it worked. With the money brought in from trade, Oceanus was able to provide its inhabitants with all sorts of commodities, as well as field it's massive navy and marine force. One of their best defensive measures, a series of large naval forts sprawled through out their waters, and eventually allied and international waters, designed to watch for incoming invasions, natural disasters and the like. But the peace couldn't last forever. The former empire in control of Oceanus, Cantha, after seeing their success, attempted a full scale invasion of what was once theirs. Most of their ships and sailors, however, stood no match for Oceanus' navy. Before Oceanus' marines could mount a counter offensive, the former empire surrendered, and invited Dorian to a peace summit in their capital. Dorian was killed by their emperor with a poisoned dagger at the meeting, and tensions between the two countries have been high ever since. However, after seeing the safety and benevolence of Oceanus' rule, immigrants have been flocking there ever since, bringing culture, sciences, and stories ever since. Dorian's grandson, Cobiah is currently in rule, and has great public favour from providing incentive to students learning the languages of the immigrants, bringing jobs to the country, and maintaining neutrality in the country. Today, many world summits and peace meetings are held in Albatross' Landing, and many countries are looking to gain the favour of Oceanus for their Navy, Marines, and overall hospitality. The tribe that founded Glory at the city of UrbicGloraic sought to obtain the advantages that the civilized nations farther east seemed to have. However, the rest of the tribes seemed split on the approach, with about half joining the civilization seeking tribe, while the other half began to violently resist these efforts. Over time, the resistors gained traction in the long civil war, eventually kicking the civilization seekers out south. The civilization seekers eventually settled in a new place near the middle of the eastern coast in a city they called NovaGlorii. Here, the second king, Jakus the Clever, helped lay the foundation for Gloriian culture and language. Over time, the Gloriians grew stronger as their long lifespans made their population grow much larger than those around them, slowly absorbing the surrounding tribes, by choice or by force. During the reign of Julius Julii in 100 CE, Glorii was lead to expand from merely a quarter of the area to the entire southern half, in which time Gloriian tactics were fine tuned. At around 400 CE, Glorii collapsed into a massive civil war that lasted nearly 10 years, seemingly ending with the deaths of the entire Julii family and a full democracy in place. However, merely 30 years later, a Julii, Augustus Julii, emerged and won the army over, overthrowing the fully democratic government and installing himself as Emperor, while keeping the Senate as an advisory body. Since then, Glory has become stable once more, with the Senate taking slowly more powers, but the Emperor remains by far the most powerful figure in Gloriian politics. Now, a militant Emperor has taken the throne in the form of Tiberiionus Julii and is preparing the Gloriian nation for a final revenge against the Mercenians... They followed the ancient way of the bushido, the way of the samurai, that was formed after the unification to be the main members of the army. The battles raged across the islands and they were cut from communication from the outer world, since they thought that lands were the whole universe. At the year 450 A.C., Ephraim, the leader that unified the islands, was born. The strongest kingdom in the islands invaded his homeland when he was 20 and he had to escape into the allied territories. He gathered allies and soon made a rebelión that overthrow the kingdom out of his homeland and they invaded the island. After the victory 2 years later, the leader was pronounced as the new king of his home island, and a year later, unified all the territories below a single banner. After a few centuries, they founded more land at the north and colonized it. They thought that it was just another island, but soon found out it was way bigger. They had found the continent. Even though that, they decided to keep the name for how important it was for them and their history. After a long time, they exceled at the industry and started advancing in technology rather quick. They started stablishing communications world wide and soon their economy went up really high. The tribals and settlers eventually collaborated with each other and formed the Kingdom of Kevoria, following old traditions with new ideals and technology. As time went and technology advanced, the people discovered the mountains were rich with metal and resources, leading and industrial and economic boom in the late 1600s. This boom led to a steep separation between people, leading to a civil war between the Old Monarchs and the New Republicans. In 1724, the monarchy, King Milas III, was overthrown and a new republic was established. As time continied on, industry and economics boomed within the nations, barrowing deeper into the mountains for resources and living space, creating massive cities inside the mountains. Eventually, at the discovery of flight and the parachute, the Kevorian military established it's acclaimed Airborne Division and began annexing the nearby northern and eastern lands through aerial assault before finally settling down and focusing on more domestic issues. The Dark-Ages brought about multiple Caudelian kingdoms that were fractured into smaller entities, and continued to exist in this manner until the late 12th century when a powerful Caudelian Kingdom ruled by King Robin Adaria managed to diplomatically annex half of the kingdoms, then conquer the remainder in force. He almost succeed when the Southern kingdoms united against King Robin, led by a highly spiritual 'High King' known as Theodore Heidenreich which brought about a terrible civil war that wiped out half of the population. North and Southern Caudel existed for over 200 years since then, with many of it's neighbors praying that the nations never truly unify. If they did, they'd disrupt the balance of world power significantly. And on July 18th 1492, a legendary Caudelian Templar known as Alexander Barbarossa united both of the kingdoms in a popular coup, having immense support of both of the nations populations. On the same day, he was crowned as the first Caudelian Emperor to a rapturous applause. Within the next five years of power, Alexander reformed the entire Caudelian military and improved the lives of millions. Eventually, Barbarossa declared the infamous Morning War in 1499, in which the Emperor conquered almost the entire Northern Hemisphere in less then three year, completely undefeated in every battle he was leading and experiencing little to no losses due to his almost-divine strategic ability. Alexander I not only managed to unite the kingdoms, he turned them into a legendary superpower within ten years, being the forerunner of all scientific and medical progress. When Alexander died in 1548, his son Thomas was crowned as the Emperor and reformed the Navy. By 1701, the last Barbarossa successor died. Magnus Barbarossa, being something of a messiah, only died at 21 due to a brain tumor. To make matters worse, he was born completely infertile. Another dynasty succeed Barbarossa, although it never accomplished what Caudel's three greatest leaders ever did within their lifetimes. Within the next 100 years, the Caudelian Empire slowly went into decline as some provinces began to seek independence, while the Empire slowly fell apart. The final Caudelian Emperor was seen as a tyrannical dictator, and after revolutionary and social pressures such as liberty began to emerge, the Caudelian Revolution threw away the Monarchy in a surprisingly violent manner and was replaced with a democracy in 1812, after 320 of an immeasurably powerful Monarchy. Nowadays, present-day Caudel is a Federal Republic where many of citizens enjoy some of the highest standards of living in the world. Alexanders Reforms during his rule kept Caudel as a scientific and military powerhouse for over 450 years...
