Greetings and Salutations

Hey, everypony. Nice to be here, it looks like a classy operation. I'm not new to forums and I'm not a new member of the herd either, but it seems I'm only just now getting into the online brony community. I actually joined the herd in 2011 after the show was recommended to me by some of my anime club brethren. I knew absolutely nothing about the show at that time since I have never been a regular on 4chan and wasn't hip to the pony content bans and other such debacles that were going on. So, since it was my buddies who recommended it, I gave the show a chance. Yeah, I was a little hesitant, knowing how lacking in quality the franchise had previously been, but after I finished watching the first two episodes, I knew this show was doing it right and that it was totally worth watching. All in all, it's probably for the best that I didn't know about the huge online controversies and hype that the show was getting. I generally don't like hopping on bandwagons and the more hyped something is, the more I instinctively reject it.

So yeah, being an otaku, the transition into the herd went rather smoothly for myself and I'm happy that I was able to discover the show the way I did. Nopony got in my face and demanded I watch it, or raged at me about how dumb they thought it was. I was completely neutral to the show. And I was already used to watching cute characters having adventures or just navigating through a daily routine. Comedy, slice-of-life, adventure, etc. And cuteness, hehe ^-^ I love cute, cute is aweeeeesome. And those ponies, well they are just adorable and I love'm to bits x3 Especially Fluttershy, she is best pony, le epic squee <3 Though I guess it's worth noting that I can relate more with Rainbow Dash since I'm an adrenaline junkie who loves to win, and I'm a trumpet player, so there's an intense ego there as well (yep, also a band geek). Fear not though, I think the world of myself but I don't take any enjoyment out of belittling others and being arrogant about it. Friendship is magic after all, am I right? So yeah, nice to meet you all and if you've actually read all this, massive kudos to you, I'll send you a mental hug.

 

Thanks for the feedback, y'all. And QuirkyUsername; your Luna filly picture gave me diabetes /)^3^(\ I really love Luna too and I feel that the show needs more of her. Seeing her "did I miss anything" moment at the end of the second season finale made me feel as though I'd been cheated out of seeing Luna play an active role for a change. I Loved her appearance in "Sleepless in Ponyville." She's my favorite princess l-)

And Eskaryel; Nice to meet you. I don't have accounts for either of those sites because honestly, I don't draw much anymore and my artistic skills aren't worth sharing on a site like that. I am pretty handy with Gimp though and I enjoy editing photos. No pony OCs though, haven't had that ambition yet and I doubt I will anytime soon. I'm not against RPing though, I consider myself proficient in that realm. Also, I thank you for the compliment
