Hello there, everypony! I am new here. To this site. To the fandom. I have only just started watching MLP:FiM... since... -thinking- ...July, probably. BUT I HAVE SEEN EVERY EPISODE OF SEASON ONE. AND I LOVED EVERY GODDANG MINUTE OF IT. And i still have no idea as to why, to be honest. Hahahaha. But that's one of the reasons i love it! So... i don't really know what else to say.... I just like posting in the forums, really. Hahaha. So, uh.... Feel free to talk to me! I am an extremely agreeable and understanding person. I am quite kind (as i find it very hard for myself to be mean), and i love making new friends. And i am a nerd. Well... you can say something if you'd like. I just wanted to put out my introduction.

Nice intro. I think you'll be quite welcome here! As for the reasons why you like it, I see no harm in explaining why I personally like it. Maybe it'll give you an idea as to why you do. For me, it's a combination of a few things: • The show isn't dumbed-down. I don't feel like my intelligence is being insulted while watching it. • The characters are multi-dimensional; They're interesting, they have their own strengths and weaknesses, they have their own good and bad moments. • The storylines and characters are relatable. I've seen some episodes where I can say, "Hey, I can relate to this situation." I can also relate to some of the characters, especially Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie. Just to name a few. I also love the community that has evolved from the show. It's got to be the greatest one on the Internet. Of course, that's a biased opinion because I'm part of it, heh, but I've been a part of other Internet communities in the past and I can say from experience that this one is definitely the friendliest and the most caring. So, I hope you know what you've gotten yourself into. Prepare to be hugged, loved, glomped?, and make plenty of friends here, because that's pretty much inevitable if you stick around with us! Thank you! And i've noticed! When i got here, i just felt like... everypony loves everypony else. There aren't really any fights over anything. Nopony really hates anypony else. I just feel like everypony regards each other as family. Which is how every fandom should be. This probably IS the friendliest place on the whole internet. o.o And. I, uh.... I see what you did there. I HOPE i will be here for a long time. xD
Well, melle (heh, heh!), Welcome to the Herd! I, too, had the same reaction you did - I loved it, but couldn't figure out why for the longest time. Part of it is the reasons given by ePONYmous, above, but I can see a little of myself in each of the Mane six, although mostly in Twilight! As to the unicorn-pegasus debate, I can understand. Although there's no particular reason for it, I've tended to ascribe cerebral aspects to unicorns, and more physical aspects to pegasus. As a result, although I love flying, and would love to fly all by myself, I tend to think of myself as a unicorn. But, hey-! If you really can't decide, flip a coin! And, yeah, the sacharine levels around here are pretty high - expect random hugs when you aren't looking! . . . And when you are.

Oh! Sorry! When i said "why", i suppose i really meant "how". My bad. I mean, i know PLENTY of reasons WHY i ABSOLUTELY adore this show, the characters, the plot, the lessons, the music, the art, EVERYTHING! I just meant... if you'd told me several months ago that one day i'd be obsessed with a My Little Pony show... i wouldn't have believed you. Well, actually, i probably would have. I do tend to love things that aren't even close to 'normal'. In fact i strive more than most people to be different. xD It's just... i would have been concerned about myself.... Haha. Everything you just listed, is exactly why i love the shows. And i have even more reasons than those, of course! Sorry that you misunderstood me. I should have been more clear. ^^; Yes, exactly! I, being a huge nerd, am a part of SEVERAL fandoms, and none i have ever considered myself included in has ever been so welcoming, excepting, friendly, and kind as this one. It's AMAZING! Exactly! You're just like, "HOW COULD THIS BE. THIS. AWESOME." But then after a while, you stop asking "how" and just except everything you love about it. And then you begin to have no shame in your love for it whatsoever. You don't care who knows it, or what they think of you. Because you love IT WAAAAAYY more than anyone who would think badly of you for enjoying it. xD But... that's the thing. I like making characters that are as much like me as possible. And it's not really which one i'd rather be; i'm trying to find which one i WOULD be because of who i am. And i just can't decide. But i'm starting to just portray myself as a unicorn until i can decide. :< Hahaha. I've already been accepted so much, and i've only actually posted on this site for less than a day! ^////^

You worded it wrong? How could you?! Hmph. Hehe, just kidding. If you said "how" I may have interpreted it the same way, but I have more reasons than those as well. I just wanted to keep it relatively short. I sometimes make long posts, which I'm sure you'll have the unfortunate misfortune of encountering at some point. So, I'll warn you in advance, I may post walls of text, lol. Feel free to pass 'em up, even though I love it when somepony reads and replies to them. Sometimes I love it a little too much. If someone told me I'd like this show a few months ago, I'd think they were crazy. Not as crazy as oatmeal, but kinda close. I was rather hesistant at first when I heard about it. I thought, "How can any adult men like this?" but my curiosity got the better of me and I watched it. Then I realized how... it's just plain awesome for the reasons I've mentioned, and more. Its awesomeness is evidently great enough that it breaks down our previous inhibitions to watching it. At least, that's my theory. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. Oh yeah, one more thing, I tend to quote the show a lot.

Oh, right.... Well.... -derp- I just... i mean, i used to not know "why" or "how" a lot more than i do now. But i have a theory.... I think it has something to do with Lauren Faust. She also did Power Puff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and WHO KNOWS WHY THOSE SHOWS WERE SO GREAT. THEY JUST FREAKING WERE. And i have read that they, too, captured a tad more diverse audience than they were expecting. Though, not NEARLY as much as with FiM. Okay. So. My theory is... Lauren Faust is a wizard. Any thoughts? [P.S. I don't mind when people write GIANT posts. I do it myself fairly often anyway. ^^ But i ALWAYS read long posts when i know that the person speaking is worth listening to.
