I'm pretty new to the internet MLP culture and MLP in general. I started watching it out of curiosity a little over a month ago, and found myself thinking about it quite often. The show makes me feel, well, happy - simple as that. I find the unfettered optimism contagious, especially in a world that seems so anti-that. I'm a bit concerned that I'm getting into it a little too much, too fast. Being a 28 year old male, despite knowing of the huge brony subculture, makes me feel a little insecure about my new found interest. Some of that caution also comes from a personal history of getting way into something, spending tons of money, and then wondering why a couple years later! Oh well, hopefully I can participate here and feel more confident in what makes me happy. On a side note, I've often found myself liking "girl" things my whole life. First it was Easy Bake Oven, then it was Sailor Moon, now it's MLP My (9 year old) god-daughter is also a fan of the show, and we recently made a trip and got some MLP merchandise; some for her, some for me. I find it an excellent way to bond with her. I have no children of my own, but after doing a great deal of MLP-related activities with her, I hope to have a little girl sometime in the near future, finances permitting. Looking forward to getting acquainted with the community!
