Not sure if this is the right place to post it, but since this is the character discussion forum... Well, I'm sure you're all familiar with this poster that shows characters from the show (http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/222/4/c/mlp_fim_comic_con_poster_1080p_by_shugotheripper-d465rsd.jpg). It not only features the more important characters, but also many fan favorites among the background ponies. But there's this one pony, just behind Big Macintosh, the light-pink-maned purple pegasus, which I don't recognize at all. So, does one of you know who she is? When did she appear, and is she of any significance to the fandom? It's been bothering me for quite some time now...
I did some searching, and her name is Rainbow Day. I have no idea who that is and I don't remember seeing her in the show. I guess she's EXTREMELY obscure.
First thought was that it was screw ball. Rainbow Day huh? I heard that name someplace before. I shall now do research. Episode 16, I think she shows up when Rarity flies in front of the sun for the first time.
Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I thought that maybe she was one of the more obscure fan favorites (or at least one I didn't know yet), but it looks like she's just a random bg pony. I would have thought that by now she would have a complete fanon bio and thousands of fanfic appearances including an explanation of how she managed to sneak into the group pic. :derpe:
She probably got an honourable place in the group. While she might be a fourth-tier character (non-fan-favourite background pony), everypony listens up when she speaks. For it was her who mentioned Ditzy Doo's name, and it was her who talked Rarity into entering the Best Young Flyer Competition. Among the background pegasi, she is one of my favourites.
