Much like the "knives and sharp things" thread, this one is for us gun lovers. Surely I am not the only one. I've been around guns my whole life. I love going out and shooting cans with my grandpa. I usually shoot his old .22 that he got when he was 17. Or I use my 30-30 Winchester.

    So, any thoughts?

Always wanted a gun or a rifle, but Australia has had insane gun laws since the Port Arthur Massacre in 1996. You need a license to purchase a gun here, and even then, it takes years to get the higher end semi automatic rifles. Automatics and higher are banned here. Shame, i always wanted to go hunting with a decent Accutrigger Savage 10FP with .308 rounds.

I have no guns, and I never will. I have a fundamental disdain for firearms, but I would like a bow. Bows are cool.

I, too, would love a cross bow. Unfortunately, I don't think that they're legal in my state unless you have a certain condition. So I just stick with my .22 rifle. Not much to brag about, but hey; it's a gun. Yay.

I got myself a small arsenal. I got a Springfield XDM 9mm, Walther p22, Marlin .22 rifle, A Mossberg 12g with an interchangeable barrel for slugs, and a Pardner SBI 12g.

Hunting permit I think, I'd have to double check it. I don't think there illegal though otherwise I wouldn't see them for sale in Academy.

Interesting. I heard somewhere that they were in fact illegal in Mass. Then again, my source isn't exactly "reliable".

EDIT: Apperenty, they are legal to own, but only the handicapped can use one for hunting.

I would prefer some sort of high powered laser, quick blast, no blood due to it being cauterized by the beam. and no bullets.

I've always wanted to fire a shotgun. Pump action. I don't like semi or fully automatic ones.

anyone know a good caliber thats cheap? i am tired of not being able to find 22 shells at all. walmart stocks literaly 3 of the small $2 boxes and sells out in 30 minutes each month. every other caliber i can actually see dust on the boxes from lack of anyone buying.

While I've always preferred a blade of some sort, I will admit a fondness for a good long range weapon. I can only speak from game experience rather than real life but I've always been either very long range or very short range. Snipers and SMGs.

I own three swords, a small assortment of knives, a steel baton...and a Marlin 336c.

Hoping to get a M1895 Nagant Revolver...and like every gun lover, I want an AR-15...in either 5.56 or 6.8.
    ...and an M1A.
...and a dozen other rifles and handguns.

6.8 SPC is more of a novelty caliber and therefore more expensive and harder to find. 5.56/.223 is where you want to go.

I own mostly hunting rifles and shotguns. ARs are illegal in NYS now. I'd like to get my pistol permit soon as I'm able.

I think there should be strict regulations on guns simply because I wouldn't want any dangerous shootings. I would like that as a preventative measure.

That being said, hunting sometime might be cool as I've never tried it.
