So, after doing a little research, I found out that not only is it April Fool's day, but it's also National One Cent Day (in the United States, that is). According to Wikipedia: "When the Lincoln one-cent coin made its initial appearance in 1909, it marked a radical departure from the accepted styling of United States coinage, as it was the first regular coin to bear a portrait other than the mythical Liberty, which appeared on most pre-1909 regular coins.” There really isn't one set way to celebrate One Cent Day, so just throw pennies in the air! Give them to your cat! Make a wish in a well! Watch as nopony believes that this is a legit holiday.
did you know that the penny is the only coin in the US that faces the opposite way than the other three coins?
Somewhat related, the British (Yes, I live in the UK.) Prime Minister, David "Ooh look how few grey hairs I have" Cameron, has trouble counting to one, according to my friends at school. (Yes, I don't like my country's Prime Minister at all.)
Vegemite cents? They taste like blood... If cents are made of steel: 1- Get string 2- Get a magnet 3- Go to a Well 4- ??????? 5- Profit! P.S. on Europe our cents are bigger than yours.
Yes. Please do. No, but I do now. Actually, I read somewhere that it costs more recently, due to the scarcity of certain metals. Just something I read.
