I just got word of a new made-for-TV movie that Hasbro is currently preparing, that will air July 24 at 9:30 PM. "My Little Pony: The Wizard of Oz". Hasbro describes the plot as such: "Hasbro and My Little Pony take you to a magical journey to the wondrous land of Oz as an old classic story gets a new fresh take! Dorothy is a headstrong, kind and courageous Pony living in Ponyville with her friends Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, her Uncle Henry, her Aunt Em, and her pet dog, Toto. But when a huge tornado hits Ponyville, Dorothy is transported to the magical land of Oz, where she meets new friends with familar faces, new challenges, and whole new lessons on friendship, courage and intelligence!" The voice cast is thus: -Willow Shields as Dorothy Gale -Peter Cullen as Uncle Henry -June Foray as Aunt Em -Tabitha St. Germain as Rarity, the Tin Pony, and the Gatekeeper -Andrea Libman as Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lioness -Kathleen Barr as the Wicked Changeling, and the Great and Powerful Oz -Nicole Oliver as Glinda the Good Pony In addition, Hasbro already has toys of Dorothy, the Tin Pony, the Cowardly Lioness and the Scarecrow ready to be released around the same time as this TV movie. Personally, I'm excited for this. I wish that the clip was a little bit longer, but I will say that Spike makes an excellent flying monkey.
