    Hi there!
My name is RotundReptile - but, since I have used alot of screenames throughout my time on the internet, you can call me Syd.

I came looking for a forum to discuss the new My Little Pony series, Friendship Is Magic. I feel in-love with the series at the beginning of '11; Overall, I find the series to be a very good one, with a colorful setting, a funny and balanced cast, and good moral values about friendship. My favorite character is the baby dragon, Spike - I feel like he doesn't get enough love within the fandom community, and I have to wonder why, too, because he's so cute!
In a very small way, My Little Pony was apart of my childhood: I owned and watched the "Bright Lights" VHS tape (from Generation One), and, on a rare occasion, I'd play with a pony figure. I was more into Pokemon, during that time period, than anything, though - plus, I wasn't big into girly toys, either.

Here are some things that you should know about me:
    - I'm big into cartoons in general. I have been ever since I was a small kid, and that interest has carried with me into adulthood. Some of my current favorite cartoons include Regular Show, The Amazing World Of Gumball, SpongeBob, and Adventure Time.
I enjoy Anime as well, but not as much as I do with Western Animation. With Anime, I'm picky with the shows I watch - as compared to cartoons, where I can watch just about anything. Some of my favorite Animes include Doraemon, Detective Conan, and FullMetal Alchemist.

    - I've been in fandom, generally-speaking, since '05. One of my very first fandoms was Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends - which, ironically, Lauren Faust worked on as well. With me getting into Friendship Is Magic, it feels like my experiences in fandom are, in a way, coming full-circle.
I enjoy making FanArt and Graphics, reading FanFiction, having discussions with other fans, and things like that. I'm really big in shippings and pairings - both of the opposite sex and of the same sex - and Friendship Is Magic is no exception.

    - I chose the name "RotundReptile" for two reasons: One being that the word, "Reptile," can represent Spike, and the other being that I enjoy chubby characters and/or weight gain. So, the username is a fancy way of saying, "Chubby Spike."
Keep in mind that not only do I like to see fat characters in general (such as in a drawing), but I like seeing cartoon characters gain weight, too. Other situations that I like seeing cartoon characters in are when they inflate like balloons, and when they wear diapers or other baby-like get-ups. That being said, I may or may not depict these situations in the FanArt that I post here - regardless if I do or not, these drawings will always be non-sexual in nature, and they will be labeled with a warning in the hyperlink.

I think that is about it.
Don't be afraid to talk with me - I love making new friends, and I don't bite. Please, though: If you do add me on one of my messengers (especially Skype!), PM me first, and tell me who you are. I'd appreciate it alot.

Thank you for taking the time to read all of this. I'm happy to be here! ^^

    ~ Syd

I do hope you enjoy your stay here and be sure to make lots of friends! We're all friendly here! As for shipping, make sure to recognize Zephyr Wind x Fluttershy, as that is the one true pairing for Fluttershy!! ;)

That was a great introduction, Syd!

Welcome to Everypony! I hope you enjoy your stay with us!

I used to be an avid anime fan, and two of those you mentioned (Detective Conan a.k.a. Case Closed and Fullmetal Alchemist) were some of my favorites!

If this post is any indication of your typical posting style, then I can't wait to see you share more of your thoughts around here! :)

Thank you for the warm welcomes, everyone!
You'll have to pardon me, because I haven't really used, "everypony" and "anypony" as replacements for, "everyone" and "anyone" yet. I think that I'm going to treat the Friendship Is Magic slang like I do the furry slang: I'll use it when I feel like it's needed - because, let's face it: Replacing every single "everyone" with "everypony" in every post would get annoying, right?

@ ParanoidPenguin: I think that Spike needs to have more scenes where he gains weight, then, out of nowhere, drops it off (Like in, "Owl's Well That Ends Well"). Watching him go from full, and back to his normal size in a flash, is kind-of funny!
I wanted to ask: Who made your icon? Little Trixie looks very cute in the picture!

@ Double Rainbow: I have to say that both your icon and signature are animated really smoothly. ... The spinning-motion is really distracting, as well as fun to watch!

@ Zephyr: Yes, I do like chubby characters, as well as inflated characters, and characters who are dressed like babies - of course, all of these things, usually, only happen between scenes, depending on the series. Friendship Is Magic has covered all three, atleast once: Two instances happened to Spike, and one happened to Pinkie Pie.
I'm glad that you think my interests are awesome - Actually, in the furry community, alot of people have anthropomorphic animal personas that are fat. I'd say that it's more common than having a persona who is, either, dressed like a child, or is a child. Because of the commonality, I'm not used to my interests being called, "awesome" OR, "unique."
As far as the Zephyr/Fluttershy pairing goes, I will admit that self-insertion/canon character isn't my first choice for a pairing, because I prefer canon character/canon character. However, that doesn't mean that I disapprove of self-insertion: On the contrary, I like those kind-of pairings when they're done well!

@ Rashall: Your icon is absolutely beautiful! <3

@ ePONYmous: It really depends, on what the central topic is, as to how much I'll talk about something. For example, if there is a thread about the series, "Glee," I won't have much to say, because I've seen one full episode of the show. If, however, the thread is centered around the topic of San Diego Comic Con International, I'll post about the experiences, that I had, when I went in '10.
When I post on forums, I want to make alot of my posts thoughtful - especially since I feel like I can write better than I can talk! On some websites, like DeviantART, I have a few friends that I can act goofy with, but I still try and use proper grammar - unless the situation calls for a CAPSLOCK, multiple exclamation points, or a meme (suck as, "plz").
EDIT: Oh, and, I'm glad that you're a fan of Conan and FullMetal as well. It's always good to meet other fans - especially for Conan, because I feel like that show doesn't get enough attention (as compared to FullMetal, anyway).

Hmmm... I have a feeling you and I are going to get along pretty well. We are fairly alike when it comes to posting styles. I must warn you in advance that at some point during your journey through Everypony, you may encounter one of my notorious walls of text (a.k.a. "tl;dr posts"). I don't know how the other members on here put up with me, to be honest. I guess they just love and tolerate me, heh. Certain topics will just pop up that invoke my desire to type up a really long, thoughtful post. While at other times, I just make really short posts, and may even just joke around. Either by posting only a picture, a small sentence, a video, a meme, etc. That's another thing about me; I can be very random (like Pinkie Pie!) and joke around a lot. Normally you'll see me put ":p", "haha", "lol", "heh" or some other indicator to show I'm only kidding around.

It's funny you should mention that you feel you write better than you speak. I feel this way as well, although one member that hasn't posted in this thread yet, which I'm sure he will at some point, named Snowy Shuffles said that I do talk just as well as I write (in a Ventrilo chat). So, maybe it's just a matter of one's interpretation. Then again, I tend to think negatively about myself. Quite a few members here probably know what I'm talking about. It's only their praise that keeps me going and striving to make the posts that I do.

If you decide to stick around, you will also see that this community is by far one of the kindest, most caring, most tolerant, most respectful and just downright most awesome places to be a part of. So, I truly hope you do stick around here. :)

By the way, after a while, typing "everypony" and "anypony" may become second-nature. When I first joined, I found it to be a little awkward typing it, but now I sometimes do it without even thinking about it. On the forum, at least. I have yet to accidentally do that anywhere else, such as a homework assignment. Thank goodness for spell-check. :p

Hi RotundReptile, and welcome to the site! I enjoy a lot of the same cartoons that you listed, and I also watch anime. I tend to view the more obscure ones, though. Hope to see you around. Have a good one!

Hay there RoundReptile, or RR, or Syd! Welcome to our Herd.

Like you and ePONY, if it's a topic I have some deep thought on, I'll go on for quite a bit - it should be interesting if there's a topic the three of us can talk about for a bit. We could make it the largest thread ever - in terms or word count, any ways.

I'm sure you'll find lots of interesting things to talk about here - and I'm interested in seeing you make the ponies, a-hem, well rounded characters.

Not sure about the diaper thing though . . .

    Welcome to everypony.
I'm Yeti, nice to meet you.
I'm glad to see another Spike fan (although, I like spike as much as other ponies, and consider him 7th member of main cast).

    Welcome to the site

Just to clarify (hopefully this won't be an issue), but there is a difference between having a fat cartoon character and having it be more specifically "fat art"

This sort of thing is not against the rules

BUT it's a matter of context and purpose, if you're going to post an overweight character make sure the intention in it's creation was innocent or else you'll be in violation of the rules.
