Ok, it's not a very serious problem, but still. I have made a drawing of a pony (^^) and I have seen a lot of pictures out there with no background. I don't want a background either, but I don't know how to remove the background. I always delete the bottom layer when I'm done, so it's white and grey squares instead of a white background, but when I save the pic, the background is STILL THERE! What should I do?
I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.

    I'm thankful for answers! :)

Try saving it as a PNG? A vector filetype doesn't save the background while a bitmap file does.

Needs to be a PNG. JPG/BMP won't work.

Yeah, jpg, bmp, and some other formats will NOT save the layers. They "merge" the layers in to one and they cannot be retrieved. PNG, PSD (photoshop), GIF, and XCF (gimp) will preserve layers and most of the original information. If you have a pic that already has been merged and you can't go back, you may have to do some VERY careful cutting and repasting.
