Whovian I've been a Who fan for years, and then I saw this guy on MLP : ..... ok... nevermind... i cant get the image attached to this darn thing. Anyway, I saw the 10th Doctor (Ponified) and found that the fans already named him as "Dr Whooves". *squee*
Yes Doctor Hooves is a thing. He's sometimes called Time Turner but there is actual licensed toys that refer to him as Doctor Hooves. I have a small plush made by Aurora (One of the better companies making pony plush in America I feel, in general. The Japanese licensed Pony toys are amazing, but we don't get those ;p). It's this one, and he's about the size of a beanie baby: Given your comment I'm guessing you may be knew to the pony fandom in general? If that's true feel free to ask me questions about the show, the comics, fan music, fanon (I guess) and I'll do my best to tell you about what's out there as far as I know. I already thought of a few other things you may like to know: There is a background character named Minuette or Colgate (she gets called both) She has the same time turner cutie mark as Doctor Hooves. Given that and the fact that she is blue a few fans like to say she's the pony tardis. It's not really a theory I go by, but you may see it at times. Another story is that she is a dentist who is specialized at time magic and uses it to be especially good at her profession. This I do stand by, given we've seen Twilight use time magic, Minuette helped out on all three teams at once during Winter Wrap up (it's true ^_^), and her trading card kind of commented on this posibility. (The colectable character cards not the TCG ones, though I know the cards aren't necessarily the say on what is and is not canon but it's a step in that direction). The quote on the card was "Minuette is always on schedule thanks to her magic, and ponies say she's good enough to lord over time itself! Either way, her magic gives her plenty of spare time for her bright, shining smile to be seen all across Equestria. Her action packed life has included making friends in Canterlot and Ponyville, helping all three teams during Winter Wrap Up, and even serving as one of Princess Cadance's bridesmaids! This is one pony you can't just brush aside." Also on her mini figure the little description said that she "is always on time with the help of some magic!" Another thing you'll probably like to know is that there is a fan made, radio show style, program called Doctor Hooves and Assistant. It's about the Doctor's journeys with his current assistant Derpy Hooves. A few have animatics or simple animations other fans have made for them, but most are just voiced. They are pretty fun. There is another one with a different pony doctor called Doctor Hooves Adventures but I haven't listed to it much. From what I heard I don't think I like it as much, and that dimension's Twilight Sparkle is his assistant which I wasn't particularly fond of (the idea not Twilight. She's actually my favorite pony.)
