Well to make the Cutie mark you can use something like GIMP and draw the Cutie mark yourself or you can take an image off of Google if you want. I'm stuck being a Blank Flank due to my OC I made, so I don't know about uploading it but I think you can just go to the top of the page, click "Forum actions" then "Edit profile" and there might be something about a Cutie mark there. What do you mean by "Lost"? do you mean you cant find stuff or you are unsure on what topics you want to take part in?
Well RP chat is currently down atm and the forum section isn't really used that much from my knowledge. I'm not great at RPing either but you just need to try and jump in on something and you will soon get a smooth flow of what your character is like and how he/she reacts with other ponies. It will be hard if its your first time RPing unless your a natural. One thing you should keep in mind about RPing is to NEVER do something called "God modding" which is where you give your or someone else's character stuff that you pulled out of your butt, like you can just give yourself some sort of powerful weapon and kill your enemy. Also one thing not to do, I forgot the name of it. is to not control others characters, what I mean is to not just do something to someone like *stabs Blah and he dies" unless you have multiple OC's in the current room and do it to your other OC. instead say something like *lunges at Blah with a knife* to give them a chance if they want to die or put up a fight. Also one rule is if you weren't there you don't know what happened there even if you saw the chat clearly, your character wasn't there and you cant say "hey did you hear Blah and Derp are together." if Blah and Derp confessed love in a room by theirself. Also don't make your character too strong, have some weaknesses or its boring if you can just overcome every problem. they are not really rules but more guidelines so everyone can have fun instead of having their character killed after a lot of work building them
