Do you guys think there is any slavery in Equestria? This seems to support the idea of it There might be racism as well, since they tend to be rude to that mule, who always replies "None Taken ;(" And what purpose do the cattle/cows serve? Applejack is seen herding them at times, is she using them as animal trafficking? Maybe I'm just thinking too deep :/
well, I think you're thinking too deep. Celestia wouldn't allow it although, this is interesting topic to discuss. I remember once on on meetup we (Zagreb Bronies) had discussion on topic, and couldn't get to some constructive explanation. Closes we got was one given in Fallout Equestria (which I didn't read, but one of members is big fan of series, so he read all of it)
The sheep is truly an interesting topic, although the cows may have some sort of foreigner policy that they have to follow during their time in Equestria. They tend to accidentally stampede, so they may have to go under some waver that gives ponies leave to stop them if they do. This is, of course, just a wacky theory with no facts to back it up
Sheep and cattle aren't even in the same family as ponies-thus there would be tons of confused interactions between the two. Since the griffons and changelings have thier own seperate kingdoms, and there are few mules/donkeys-which would mean they travelled to Ponyville etc-it ain't that far out for the cattle and sheep to have a socity. The ones in Ponyville probaly coming in large droves to trade thier own goods-wool and milk CX ...totally fanon either way XD
OH LORD YES Also on being rude to 'that mule'-A mule is a crossbreed between a male Donkey and female pony/horse, so I would imagine it wouldn't be treated fairly by every pony.
Furthermore on slaves; I know this has been discussed, but another possible slave candidate is Spike. Maybe not exactly a slave, but a 'buddy' taken advantage of. Ponies appear to like him, but twilight seems to give him all of the hard chores while she doesn't do anything to really help.
But the diamond dogs stopped. The ponies kept on their slave master ways. And it seems that the men are often treated simply as 'work horse' or being 'just there'.
I think that there will be racism. Ponies are obviously the dominant species, so they will naturally be some racism. Even the ponies in Canterlot feel that they are more supreme than others (that's the impression I get). So there's likely to be some forms of mild racism. As for slavery, I think that other animals are more like servants. I'm sure the ponies look after the sheep very well.
Maybe some of them care well for them, but I bet most of them are mean to them. It doesn't seem to be frowned upon
well i for one feel that Ponies are awesome and Because Ponies are ponies and ponies. lets pony the ponies and pony up.
What? ^ And there apparently was racism (looked like it) when Zecora came along. Well, not exactly racism, but a lot of ignorance
The other ponies were scared of her because she looked different. I think that's slightly racist. The friendship report was "Don't judge a book by its cover". That could be seen as an anti-racism comment. Over-analysing kids' TV shows is so fun.
A concert security person corralling patrons in the right direction will also get "you could have just asked". In reality they can't just ask... it doesn't work, which is why they learn to move people like sheep. I don't see a difference.
No offense, but you seem very anti-racist about everything ._. If i walked up to you and said "I don't like you." You'd say "Racist!" Not every form of hate or ignorance is racism. In fact, only a fraction of all hate in the world is based on racism. Well, i hate the people who scream "Racism" everywhere they go.
I know I know, it's just that I tend to over-analyze the hell out of everything. But about being more 'anti-racist' than other people, it's because I live around it, being white in a predominantly african american school. But I don't go around saying "DAS RACISS" to everything, I'm just pointing this stuff out because I like to make fun of the little things in shows like this
well, I wonder if Celestia knows about all this. if no, then she has lot of work to do. Or, does she allow it? I wonder what's going on in her mind? (except how to troll more ponies, and who to send on the moon next)
