Just as the title implies, I'm wondering how the competitions work? For example, say I wanted to start a competition, how would I go about doing that? What kind of prizes are allowed and which ones are not allowed? I'm really curious because I want to start a great competition for artwork, but I want to make sure certain prizes are allowed (cash) before I actually work on the post itself.
Huh, good question. I mean, this site even used to do secret santas and things like that, so assuming people participated willingly and you provided the prizes honestly, I wouldn't think there would be any issues.

Ordinarily, people just run competitions, post up a forum here then we come and check it over. Might be in need of a rethink there... Still, offering cash prizes is something of a big thing so, dem staff blokes ought to be involved. Didn't someone put up a cash prize for a contest a couple of years back and never pay up? It may have been a different forum.
I don't know if that contest ever actually ran its full length. The host might have left the forum during its run.
