I can't stand that site. It's nothing but a liberal *insert word here* among the members. The comments section in the articles contain some of the most hateful, classless, and downright stupid comments I have ever had the misfortune of reading. I remember one article about Texas, and one person in the comments said he/she'd like to take a drone and bomb Texas into submission. So much for liberals being tolerant. The liberals on Huffingtonpost are only tolerant if you agree with their views.
Hey congrats, you discovered the internet. It's all the same, no matter where you go. Have you ever listened to anything on Fox News? It's like their job to call liberals boneheads or something. Just always be aware that just because people don't have the same opinions as yours, does not mean they are stupid, irrational, and mouthpieces. Learn from others, and find the sane in the season of dumb that is the internet.
Different sites appeal to different people, same thing with music and books. The bible only appeals to people of that faith or critics, Everypony targets the brony community, stuff like that. Oh, and as Xander said, welcome to the internet.
If you want to try discussing this with peeps in as calm a manner as you can, you're now in the right place. Although, if your looking to just get your opinions out without much discussion, try your blog, perhaps. I'll leave you to it.
I could (and often do) say the exact same thing about Fox News. Comments are always going to be a quagmire no matter which news site you go to.
I like how you assumed I watch Fox News, when I don't. I'm just saying that liberals can be just as bad as conservatives.
Enter the ignorant Dane. I've only seen one or two articles and I honestly thought it was a satire site. Are the stories for real? I've read some things that seem hard to believe on there.
The Huffington Post is a serious news and opinion site. They are not joking. Honestly, I do read The New York Times or The Chicago Tribune (I live in the Chicago area) from time to time, and even then there are opinions that I don't necessarily agree with. But most magazines/websites like this one are all rot. You couldn't pay me to read them.
If you like The Onion, you might enjoy this too http://www.thepotato.ie/ Its an Irish version of The Onion.
