Admittedly I wasn't a huge fan of the original MLP back in the 80s, but I do remember that there were two human sisters (Megan and Molly) who were part of the regular cast. I think they had a bratty brother as well but his name eludes me at the moment. In the current series, no humans have (as yet) appeared. So what I'm getting at is this: Could humans be introduced into the FiM universe? SHOULD they be introduced? Discuss!
Really the introduction of humans would create a bunch of weird unforeseen complications to things and really just wouldn't make much sense. If they put humans in it, they'd have to explain a lot of things which never needed so before: -why the world's pretty much designed for humans -why they can communicate with animals -why are ponies the dominate species It really would just add unnecessary complication and on top of that would just ruin the whole "feel" of the world created in the show
NO! End of discussion... Well... I don't think humans should be introduced. Mainly because what FiM has already is a great thing going on. Adding humans would just be unfitting. And now... Derpy's response if she saw a human...
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, a thousand million times no. This show is called 'My little PONY'! Humans would ruin the cuteness of the whole show!
'My little PONY'. The original 'My little PONY' had humans, so why use the name as a negation of this idea? Yes, Humans surely wouldn't fit in the world of Equestria as it is now, but I guess the old one was more or less stationed on real Earth. But basically, no - Humans wouldn't fit in MLP:FIM.
Friends! Bronies! Countrymen! Relax For the record, I agree, humans would in all likelyhood not fit into the new show. I just thought it might make an interesting topic of discussion.
I just imagined what would happen. Let me put it this way: No, NO, NO, NO, A THOUSAND FREAKING TIMES, NO!!!
I tried to post a response to this thread yesterday but it didn't seem to go through > so forgive me in advance if this appears to be a double post... Basically all I was doing was seeing what people would think of the idea of humans being introduced into the series.. if **HYPOTHETICALLY** speaking, the series creators wanted to integrate that aspect of the old series. For the record... I agree with all of you... humans would not fit into the new series. I wasn't trying to stir up trouble or be a troll or anything like that... I just thought it might make an interesting topic of discussion. That's all.
I agree, it is an interesting idea (although again imo a bad one). It's just a bit of a what, if? Scenario, nothing wrong with that, nothing at all.
In my opinion, Equestria - and all local areas - appear to be in a separate dimension. It already defies known laws of science, built a massive civilization ( because obviously it's just like Earthbif they have a cheap knock-off of Manhattan 3: ) and live in a severely damaged ecosystem (The wildlife has no instinct, the ponies have to wake them from hibernation which I think can cause brain damage to a hibernating animal, and they have to race to make the dying leaves fall which makes the trees seem artificial IMO). So if humans were to exist, IMO I would doubt they would be sentient and/or populous, that is, if Faust is into keeping this real, and from what I saw on Fosters she probably doesn't.
Spoiler: lots of edits This pic instantly comes to mind for some reason. But I agree with everyone else. The way the show and it's world is setup in FiM doesn't really lend itself well to the introduction of creatures like humans. It would require explaining obviously and would just be a unnecessary oddity kinda. It is something interesting to ponder over. But it gets my vote of no as well. X3 This pic almost instantly comes to mind for some reason. But I agree with everypony here. The show and the way the world is setup in FiM doesn't really lend itself well to the introduction of creatures like humans. At least not as-is. Since the ponies are basically humans in their world. It would require a fair bit of explaining obviously and just add an unnecessary oddity to the show I think. It is something interesting to ponder over. But it gets my vote of no as well. Not sure if you mean me or the other Derpy. lol Or maybe my posts just aren't showing up here for me. But everyone else can see them. Tis odd.
I think that it might work for a couple of episodes. Maybe like a crossover. Or we could have an interesting side plot where poniefied or human bronies land in equestria for a day or two.
Humans + FiM = A lot of needed explanations, less cuteness (IMO), and even worse fanfiction, like some of the other members/staff mentioned.
I asked my little sister (5 years old) and she said "No." (of course we talk in Polish so she said "Nie." but you know what I mean).
I don't think so. Only reason why is that I don't see how they can fit in the fiction after 26 episodes of no mention of homosapiens. But, in the first episode, the prologue is incredibly vague. For it says that only Luna and Celestia were in charge of the entire land and its subjects. But Equestria could easily be just a big land mass, while the world is still the world. Evidence for this is Zecora, "...from a distant land" -Twilight Sparkle. The fact that Equestria is either the world, or just a continent is never clarified. Also, how do you explain the Everfree Forest with Griffons, Cockatrices, and I'm sure we can assume every other mythical creature as well. Because Celestia and Luna's subjects is also never clarified either. So humans can very well exist elsewhere. Knowing the creativity of the MLP:FiM staff, I'm sure they could fit in a creative way to add in humans. While I think that humans may not need a huge introduction with an entire episode of explaination, the lore of Equestria would be difficult to sort out even without the humans involved. But for pure discussion about the show only, no lore: I don't think humans would add anything special to the series, and therefore should not be included in the series. To be honest, adding humans to MLP:FiM would be like adding humans to a Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon... wait a minute...
