    Hello all of you bronies and pegusisters out there. I am a noob when it comes to knowing all things pony ,and i would like to learn. Some of the things i would like to learn are: Popular background ponies,lingo, general information about the fandom, and how do the background ponies get named.
    I am also new to posting on forums so i am basically a noob to the internet.
    help would be very much appreciated.

    You're quite welcome. Don't worry about checking EqD. Overall they're fine. It's just that too many people treat them as the end-all-be-all of brony news, when they're really not.

    As for the naming of BG characters, most have placeholder names given by the writers. Other more popular ones like Derpy Hooves and Vinyl Scratch were named by the fans.
