Okay, so my dad owns these apartments. Today, we were doing some flooring in an apartment which the tenant moved out of. I was told that I needed to collect money from the other tenants. I did, and I put it in a green bank bag. On our way out, dad gave me the bank bag. It was rather large, but I had managed to fit it in my pocket before, so I put it in my pocket. We were driving down the road, and suddenly, I noticed the bank bag wasn't in my pocket. We stopped and searched the truck, but it was nowhere to be seen. We drove back to the apartments, and it was nowhere, not on the ground where I could've dropped it, not in the apartment we were fixing up, nowhere. There was $800.00 in that bag. As well as personal bank information. We were robbed, dad's angry, and it's all my fault. I bucked up.
I could see why your Dad feels that way but don't put all the blame on yourself. It might've been stolen. Did you walk past anyone who could've taken it when you weren't aware of it? Are you sure you put it in your pocket? There have been multiple times I would've sworn I did something but it turns out I didn't actually do it. I'd just revisit every single place you went to today and check. I wish that I could be more helpful but I'm not really sure what else to do. But try not to feel to disheartened by it. It's probably not all your fault.
I put it in my pocket. It was in my pocket when we were getting in the truck, and it wasn't in my pocket when we were in the truck. It had to have fallen out as I was closing my door.
That's probably the most likely reason. It's probably not under any of the seats in the truck but it's worth another check. Was this $800 mainly cash or cheques? I guess it wouldn't be as bad if it were cheques.
We checked three times already. It's not in the truck. Look, I just need some reassurance that this kind of stuff doesn't just happen to me. I screwed up something fierce, and I feel bad for this. I mean, I've screwed up before, biut never this bad.
It's possible that someone turned it in to a local Police station, or to the lost-and-found in a nearby building. Check those places, and make sure your father has reported it stolen/lost. As for your dad being mad at you... he can't stay that way forever. Ultimately, your only mistake was being careless, and if you show him you're sorry and that you really are responsible, I'm sure he'll come around. He is your father, and if he's anything like my dad, no matter what he says and does, he loves you. It'll all get better, with time.
I don't know about it being turned into the police. The apartment building's in a bad neighborhood. A lot of crime and drug dealing going on there. We have to take tasers and pepper spray with us just to go collect the rent. Dad filed a police report, and he's not mad at me anymore. Still, I think I could've done something to prevent this. I think I could've done something to find it, as well. I have a good guess as to who has taken it, but I don't have anything decisive.
Great to know that your Dad isn't mad at you. It must feel pretty bad but don't blame yourself. Hopefully the police will do something to help. I hope that everything turns out alright.
I'm trying to take my mind off it by writing things that come to mind. I still feel like this all could've been prevented by me, I still feel bad about letting it happen.
Don't feel bad, regretting it won't make it better. Try to do other things: games, writing, watching videos, listening to music. I'm not sure what time it is where you are but a good night's sleep will make you feel better.Just try not to think about it too much.
Well it does happen to everyone. Normally not that huge amounts of course. I broke an $800 laptop once and didn't have a warenty on it, so I was out all that money just a few weeks after having bought it. Yeah this stuff happens. Your not worthless because of it, your human. Unfortunately all of us are humans, as much as we wish we were ponies.
We all buck up bad at least once during our lives. I've had plenty. Time will heal you, so don't take it in too deep.
((Sorry about being late Delphinium, was youtube surfing and completely forgot about EP)) He heard the pony say something and then looked at her and rubbed his neck "sorry you just seem," he paused to think of something, "interesting with that color scheme of yours," he then heard a loud thump and his salad was here. He grinned at her and looked at his salad and started eating he knew he started to become awkward but he still retained his calm look.
