you see, Everypony isn't a site that put ads everywhere, but within the last couple of months the website had been bombarding me with ads everything I do something (click on tabs, go to chat, post something, etc) it opens a new tab with an ad that 9/10 attempts to download a virus that luckily my firewall stops, but closing tabs every thirty seconds isn't fun. there is also a large with box on the side that has "related" searches that pops up every time I load something, and it occasionally messes up the website, making it unusable, forcing me to refresh the page, and it opens a tab that I have to delete. Again. My question is that is there any way to stop it? Has someone else encountered this problem or is it just me? What is happening? Its only on this site so I have no idea.

My brother had something like that on his laptop
Check your installed programs, addons, toolbars, and whatnot. Could be that
If not, then I dunno what it would be

You have some adware or a virus. We don't serve any popup ads.

Try this

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

And Fulcrum for future reference, you need to @tag a username for me to actually get the notification sent to me.

I downloaded and ran the program, and it flagged a bunch of stuff related to AVG.
Should I be concerned?

Been years since I've touched AVG but if it's the AVG toolbar it's flagging then it's doing its job (AVG secure search I think?). I have heard of it doing this but if you're content with AVG then I would ignore it. It's a pretty thorough program, it looks for toolbars and adware both annoying or potentially unwanted.

Yes. It's just that some people dislike when certain antivirus programs change stuff on their browser and they might not know how to get rid of it. So that's where that download can help as well. So yes you are fine.

I don't use anti-virus toolbars now, because they just clog your system and slow down browsing speeds. Companies like McAffee, Norton and even AVG now have download scanning which stops infected files before they even start to download. Coupled with Ad Block Plus for your browser, pop ups and viruses are a thing of the past.

I do allow adverts on brony websites usually because this is how they earn income but if it got to the stage I was being bombarded by pop ups, they'd be going on the "naughty list" as it were. I've never had any problems with brony websites, it sounds like there is a program on your PC that is "drawing" the adverts to you when you go online.

You may wish to consider looking for programs you don't recognise in control panel and removing them, I'd also recommend Ad Block Plus for Chrome/Firefox/Safari as its a really good plugin. The download scanning usually only comes with the subscription service though and may not come with the free versions of your anti-virus software you may need to check.

Remember if you use Ad Block Plus, and get your ad problem solved before installing it, to add everypony.com to your allow list. ^^

I have the same issue and, for some reason, on every computer I've used for the past 3 months. It's odd...

Perhaps its something you downloaded on your computer? Do you file share with your other computers?
I never encounter any adverts on everypony.com, even though I do not have adblocker on this machine.
