So here's the deal. If you've read or heard me talking you might know I'm an Animator. One who can't afford college and is trying his best to be able to go. And to afford this college I have to rank in the top 10 at nationals. Well I have had horrible team experiences. First at state, my teammate ditched me. Now my new teammate just wants to use me to go to Kansas it seems. He never does his Part while animating, I always catch him playing games, he never does his weekly assignments, and now he's talking about cheating at competition. And worse part is...I'm stuck with him. I've told him so far 23,000 is invested in us and alls he says is "I don't get why.". When ever I tell him to work and get off addicting games my dad scolds me and says I'm a horrible team player, and I don't even say anything but "dude, were espouse to be practicing". So I tried talking with my dad and I said "I want you to email him (parents took email last year) a check list of asignmrnts to prepare him" and my dad just replys with "don't talk to me like I'm black (exact words)". And here I am freaking out, struggling to get a trip to college just overwhelmed with the fact once again I'll he going solo, it's not I can't donut, it's that I'm sick of people not being loyal. I've already planned to tell my team mate next year he will not be animating and I'll be looking for a new partner. Anyone have any advice to get me through this? please, Ive been trying for years to obtain the money to go to an Art College as it's my passion. Please reply,Banjo
Slam his your teammates head into a desk until he stops being a lazy putz, and tell your dad to stop being a racist jerk. That all i have to say...Well..the latter is one that you should do...the first one..you should just try to get a person that actually does things.Like me except im not old enough for college.
A small idea is what us brits mainly do with university. Since it's £9000 per year, then we genuinely take out a loan. Obviously, Its not ideal financially, but the extra education enables you to achieve better jobs with better money. So that paying back the money will be more realistic. As for your team mates, then i dont really know. Personally, i do everything alone, and if i don't, then i'll do it as a pair. You dont have to use my loan idea, since im 15, but it might get you where you need. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I know how you feel. I've also had a horrible team in assignments before, only this is a lot more serious. I would say the best course of action (In my opinion because it's what I did and it worked for me) Is to straight out tell your friend that if he doesn't pull his socks up, get working then you'll be ditching him, if you know you can go solo then do it, as your team mate doesn't sound like he is going to shape up an time soon. Don't be afraid to do so. I'm sure the college will look at you can possibly give you credit for making that decision. It will be a lot of work, I know it will I've been there. But the biggest reward will be getting into that college and following your dreams. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you get through this, It's not nice to have your dreams shattered. I, and the whole of Everypony are rooting for you, Good luck and all the best!!
Actually i agree with Sparky... If what you're saying is all true, then knock some damn sense into his head. I don't litteraly mean "knocking" though. :derpe: If you really can't change teammates, then all you can do is try your best to get through to him. If that doesn't help, maybe find some other way to (legally) get the money?
