Simple question; If you could invent something (at least half-way realistic is preferred) that you think would make your life easier, cooler, or even just for the hell of it, what would it be? Mine would be like a hat or glasses that you could plug into a computer, and it transforms your mental image of something into a drawing, animation, or even a game.
I would invent a virtual reality room with a neural suit to match. That way, I could build any kind of world, including an MLP one, and be able to see, feel, and interact in it.
Why invent one useless thing when you could invent many useless things? Seriously though, i'd really want a portal gun.
A real life save/load button. I'm also thinking of various unnoticable designs: wristband, watch, glasses, phone,...
Can I have like, a pair of gloves which are really well armoured but aren't clunky, don't smell funny, very grippy, fit my hand perfectly, keep my hands warm and aren't made of cotton, essentially just a better version of my Gill sailing gloves.
Being a design engineer I actually have already and will probably continue "inventing" my whole life - most of the time just boring incremental improvements to minor technology. (A new kind of drug delivery valve, a different shaped plastic part for a medical device, etc) As for really crazy "big" inventions tho - I have always wanted a way to interface with computers more directly than just using hands. My keyboard and mouse are great and all, but I'd love to have some kind of connector you could plug into your head to just directly tell the computer what to do - it would make digital art way easier and flipping through things or typing on a screen much faster.
