Idea: Far into Equestria's future (500+ years after the events of the show), Equestria was a forth and coming interstellar empire with its ambitions high and its potential exponential. But then it met its match to another forth and coming interstellar on a planet Equestria called New Equestria, but they called Ciilonii. The war over the planet raged for over twenty years, and destroyed the cutting edge of the Equestrian knife. It didn't take long for this enemy, called the Gloriians, to sweep across the systems Equestria had conquered, destroying them one by one. Then, fifty years after war on Ciilonii first broke out...They found the Equestrian homeland...No mercy was shown as the planet was pummeled with Mass Acceleration Cannon Rounds followed by mass invasion. When the dust settled, the entire population of the world of all races was decimated. Only 20% of Equestria's population was spared, most of whom were captured and taken back to the Gloriian homeworld as prizes. The war destroyed the planet, rendering it barely habitable. It's been nearly 300 years since then, and only now are ponies finally able to reform civilization in the dusty wasteland of Equestria, where only short grasses now grow, and most colors are brown and a deadish looking green. The hopes of refounding Equestria died long ago, but maybe something new could come out of the hell hole... What do y'all think? ^^
