Basic idea; 35 years ago, when Snow Mark declared that, "Equestria will be thrown into a new, industrial era within the next 3 decades, with Mark Co at the helm." nopony believed her, however, her bold prediction turned true as Mark Co pumped out invention after invention and innovation after innovation. In thirty years, Equestria transformed from a mainly rural society into an urban one, where instead of tedious farm work, most ponies found themselves employed in huge urban centers, working a repetive job on an assembly line. Skilled workers suddenly found themselves outcompeted by the cheap and plentiful products flowing out of factories. And most of all, Celestia and Luna found themselves submitted to the populace's will, being rendered almost entirely just figureheads as the ponies of Equestria set up the first democratically elected Parliament in the world to run the country by their will. A new "Gilded Age" set in as those lucky enough to own the huge companies of the era bathed in money while the common worker wallowed in barely livable wages. Technology, not magic, ruled the day. In some cities, the sky turned dark grey from pollution, and at least a light grey covered the entire country from the cities' pollution. Only Canterlot, with it's high up location, remained pure, and soon became very expensive to live or even visit... you will live the life of a randomly selected position. From there, who knows?(basically, no true plotline yet)

I was planning on using Gear burn who would of worked in the research and development division of mark co.

Yea. Snow has a very hidden, not so great side to her. As in; Mark Co is actually a ginormous front for a military arms company that wants to control Equestria indirectly and cause it to go on aggressive imperialistic caimpaigns as to increase demand for their weapons and other military gear, and also gain access to new resources. And yet Strangely, Snow hates the idea of ponies being killed,... - - Auto Merge - - It's gonna be both
Snow is kinda of an Anti-Villain realistically. A genius inventor (And in some of Snow's RP's, also what can be considered a "Tyrant" ) that means well but the means of accomplishing her goal is seen as bad.
