Story: In the 1990s' , an enormous asteroid impacted Earth in the Gobi Desert that resulted in a devastating loss of life in Asia. Despite humanities best attempt to destroy the asteroid, or reduce its damage, these efforts were futile. With a loss of life numbering in the billions in Asia alone, the event also triggered a radical change to the Earth itself that would completely change the face of the Earth. Immensely powerful Earthquakes, huge tsunamis, flooding, tornados. Within the next eighty years, the new earth appeared unrecognizable to its former counterpart. California became a series of islands, Central America is underwater, Australia had been split into two and the entire world had transformed. Many years after this event, humanity was far smaller than it once was. However, it had survived the apocalypse as they went across the ruins of the old world to build new societies, establish new villages etc. You live in what remains of this broken world. Be it a simple farmer, a law-abiding citizen in a nation of your choice (You can make one up), a ruthless warlord or slaver, anything is possible in this world. However, you will unwillingly become involved in something far greater than anything beyond your wildest dreams that could change the world, for the better or for the worse. (Will make character sheets if anyone in interested)
By "Late Twentieth Century," are you talking 1970's, 1980's, or 1990's? The decade that the impact took place effects what technology and knowledge would have survived.
I'm thinking of including races as well to bring in a Fantasy/Sci-Fi aspect to this. One of these races at the moment would be extremely similar to the Faunus from RWBY. However, It's a possibility. If it were to go ahead, Human's would still be the dominant species on the planet, Character Sheet's will be up tomorrow morning.
This sounds pretty interesting. I'm in (if I can still get in on this) Edit: I see that the RP has already begun so I'll quietly excuse myself.
