Well, as all of you don't know (sorry for not mentioning it), I am in Seattle, and quite the occurence happened today. We went to Walmart to buy stuff, and I heard my baby cousin Rose (4 years old soon) say "I want that backpack with the ponies!". I looked over her head to see a small pack displaying Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy. Uncle Matt replied "Which pack, Rose?". Rose repeated "The one with My Little Pony." Shivers went down my spine. I'm serious, the mentioning was chilling, dunno why. I had honestly never seen the pony merchandise until today. We walked down the pink toys aisle and told Matt I felt like I was walking through a Webelos BB gun firing range. I then glanced at a Rarity doll. Now, I'm sure that wasn't too interesting, but now I see why I fear someone saying My Little Pony. It reminds me of the target audience, and it turns out my 3-year-old cousin is a viewer. Has this happened to anybrony here? On a side note I do feel perfectly comfortable complaining about the inaccuracies of Hasbro MLP products (Applejack's truck, anyone?).
I've enjoyed shows my little sister (who's 4) likes and didn't mind watching them with her before, so why should I feel any different now? They do make these shows with the idea that the parents would be watching with the child too so it's not like they don't try to make it enjoyable for more then just the target audience.
Yes, But I was in HotToppic today cause my sister had made me go in there and when I was aimlessly looking around I saw the most beautiful thing ever to be in there... A Mlp t-shirt with Pinkie Pie on it. It was amazing! But it shows how its becoming more mainstream but I dont care at all... needless to say I bought it.
Believe me, if there was some cool brony merchandise in stores I'd buy it in ten seconds flat, with my own money, regardless if a relative or friend is near. It's sad to say all I see is Hasbro stuff. I would love a black T-shirt depicting RD's cutiemark on the front, but I'm not sure if there's a shirt like that and my mom isn't the same with online purchases as she is with store purchases. Example: Me:Mom, can I buy this game? *holds up $50 game at store that I get bored with quick* Mom: Sure *pays for expensive game* Me:Mom, can I get this online game? *explains Minecraft ($20-ish)* Mom: Well, we're kind of tight on money, and dad needs to use PayPal for something on eBay...
I've never had a younger sibling or cousin with that much of an age difference so I've never had that happen. Still, I now spend a little more time in the pink aisle whenever I go to the store, but I never buy anything. The toys can be weird though. Like you said with Applejack's truck. ponies with vehicles don't look right to me....
yeah, toys and even mlp:fim magazine are little bit too childish for me to buy (I got first issue of mlp magazine and it does have good artwork). anyways, yesm stuff that you can buy out there are mostly for target audience. although, if there was some t-shirt or something cooler I could buy, yes, I would buy (for example I saw one cool rainbow dash t-shirt on internet, but wasn't really my style. although, I think till start of next season (somewhere before September) I'll make myself one mlp highback sock for my snowboard (it'll be my 3rd one after Tails and Ed). Thinking Spike will go on or some kind of cutie mark, but I have problem finding one (from main cast) that would fit my personality compleatly (Fluttershy's seems too girly, Twilight I don't think it has that direct symbolism.) so yeah, if there were more cooler mlp stuff, yes I would buy them
I didn't bring up Applejack's truck because ponies don't seem right with automobiles. I brought it up because it was the most idiotic product Hasbro made. The box read: "This is the same truck Applejack uses to deliver her apples across town! Without it, she's have to use wooden carts..." I'm surprised Hasbro thought the kids wouldn't notice how horribly inaccurate the toy was.
I don't like the brushable hair toys, but I will buy a Rainbow Dash one if wal-mart ever puts them out. I own only 2 shirts but I'm going to order more. Ciphered if you want I can give you a list of sites to buy some.
problem is not all adults realise mlp fim is for everyone, due to the social convention that ponies are girly, wih to be fair, until fim i thought was too,but just give them time, soon they all shall become one of us
is there maybe that left tshirt on ebay? preferably with non black background (I don't like wearing black)
checked ebay,its not on there,however i did find http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/My-Little...s_Creative_Educational_RL&hash=item564564d09a
Thank you chocolatechip. you can find the rarity shirt at this website, along with other awesome MLP shirts. http://elementsofbronyhood.spreadshirt.com/
Oh my stars and garters! I'm about to waste the rent money. Except it wouldn't be waste - totally worth being homeless to have a Power of the Elements or Day and Night shirt.
I'd get some if I didn't have to ask my parents if I could buy anything online. Plus they'd see it when it gets shipped in. I really do not trust my parents with my interests. Mother thinks all I do online is Minecraft, and although it's rather infuriaing it is a nice alibi.
while my parents dont mind my intrest in my little pony( i have a very abnromal family so this is par for the course) but they get fussy if i try to orer stuff onlien
