I'm pretty sure this won't happen, mainly because Google is even against it, but I digress, this bill sucks and it'll hopefully be shot down faster than a duck in Duck Hunt.

Everything would go into chaos if it happened, but if you think about it. There is no way it could actually happen. The government knows damn well if they passed it then America would fall into a spiraling pit of chaos. I signed the petition regardless.

I heard of this bill, it has the potential of not only killing the net, but to threaten the first amendment and democracy itself, not to mention the economy. If this passes, the United States is doomed.

The question is,how does this law, if passed affect us bronies? I have heard Hasbro approve of the youtube streamers and fan content, will they still be available or will they be taken down by another party, like for the music in a fanvideo? I fear some parties will be able to control content that were not even theirs to begin with.

I can't see this being beneficial for anyone, even big business, it helps not against piracy, only to control the population and prepare the way to undermine the first amendment. I advocate everypony and corporations to oppose it, many do not realize it, but the internet and groups like everypony is actually beneficial for business and spreads ideas to parts of the world where it would otherwise go unoticed.

Some men just want to watch the world burn.

And 'the world' is the truth. If passed, this bill could allow all .com domains to be taken down, and that's a pretty hefty portion of the internet.

If this passes I can see a civil war coming around. It's a beautiful day for an airstrike...
But seriously. We'll end up going back to stone age times.
And besides that, next thing you know they'll censor real life.

Hefty portion? I'd have to say that '.com' domains are probably over 80% of the World Wide Web XD

    Laughing pony*

When I finish up High School and gather the money/resources, so score 1 for Snowy XD

even dough I don't live in usa, and I'll still be able to torrent everything (in Croatia piracy is legal as long as you don't make money on it, and there's not plans of changing that), I singed petition against this law. I'd hate to see some of my favorite sites that are based in USA to go down over this. (alternative solution: move whole internet (all us based websites) to Europe, Africa, Asia, Canada, Mexico, South America ... but that doesn't solve problems for people inside USA, just people outside USA).
    I hope it doesn't pass
