So, around the internet, I've heard lot of mixed experiences with meeting bronies irl. Not the whole meeting process, but what happens after.
I've heard of lot stories of people being negative, sometimes rude (once you get to know them), and that there isn't that harmony among them.

now, I'm writing this post because I kinda don't understand that and don't have such experiences.
I've met Foxy and Tyro in London, and we had great time.
I've also met Melbourne/Victoria bronies, and we had awesome time (however, i've noticed that group is spitted to more smaller groups, so I just may hanged out with right people, and didn't notice anything bad (although, I've seen people on facebook talking about constant drama and arguments that are happening in background that I didn't notice, since I was there on 3 meetups in period of one month)).
And there was GalaCon 2012, where, well, everyone had a blast, it was first convention in Europe, everyone had good time, and I didn't see any problems. maybe because people didn't know each other from before and came from almost whole Europe.
And finally, there's Croatia Bronies, who with I spend most time with. We might not be biggest group out there, but we're kinda very tightly knitted and always accept new people in. Yes, there's argument here and there, but after everything is ok. There usually isn't any drama or rage about stuff that's happening in community. People usually comment on it, but there' usually no big drama.
Don't know, but the catch may be that we see each other more as group of friends than group of fans, so we often have brony meetups that have nothing to do with ponies, but just hang out and do some other stuff. Only big problem we have is of geographical nature, because about 80% of Croatia bronies either live, work or study in Zagreb city, so it's easiest to do meetups there (also, there's lot things to do here), but that's kinda unfair for people from other cities that need to travel. On other hand, it's also tricky to get 80% of people to travel (which costs money (train/bus/gas/toll roads etc)) to other cities for example 3-4 people in some other city.
However, I do plan on making some meetup on the coast, however, for that we'll need to wait for some warmer weather.

so what are your experiences irl?

I've met lots of Bronies in real life, and though most of them were cool people, there have been a few jerks among the bunch. Let's face it: there is no one unified "Brony Community." At best, that phrase describes a scattered group of individuals who have a few basic interests in common. There's nothing wrong with that. You're always going to meet people who you have things in common with that you don't like. I don't believe common interests are the foundation for a friendship. At best, they can spark an interest. Common ideologies build true relationships.

I have to agree with Dilly. Having a common interest is something to get two people talking, it really has no bearing on whether or not they'll get along.

Other than that I can't say, I've never met another brony IRL before.
