This has just occurred to me (yes I am that slow!). Iron Will is a minotaur, head of bull, body of a human. Does this support the possibilities that humans exist (or once did) in Equestria? Discusssss!
Nah, it's clearly a universe for animals like ponies, sheep and cows etc. I mean, you get all kinds of mythological creatures in the show, such as griffons, draconicus', manticores and now minotaurs. Also, would you really want those freaky kids back? It'd kind of ruin the whole magical pony universe of it all.
I dunno, i thought they downplayed the human part of him. They gave him fingers and an upright stature, but thats about it. I think they're just going down the list of mythological creatures, and they needed something that fit the bill of a stubborn, strong, and in your face character.

The human socks when Fluttershy pushes the wagons of crap onto Bon Bon and her what's-her-face friend? Clearly this is proof that these are remains, and that ponies kill humans unless they successfully convert themselves into minotaurs to avoid detection.
Dont forget the tire buried underground in H&HD. Why would something current ponies havent even invented yet be buried so far underground? Obviously humans have long since been exterminated, and ponies have taken their place. Unless... What if ponies are humans? What if, after thousands of years of either evolution or genetic mutation, the human race has turned into ponies?
I have to agree! There aren't humans in Equestria. There were humans in the old My Little Pony show back maybe 20 years ago, but they were so gosh darn creepy.
To be honest, I can see the whole human thing as a "Peace on earth" type situation. If you've seen that cartoon, then you'll know what I'm getting at.

Heh, I'd like to see someone make a X-files type fic/picture, but with Lyra and Bon-Bon instead of just ponified versions of Mulder and Scully, and of course, humans instead of aliens.
