This is my first thread, so I'm hoping that it isn't misplaced. Anyways, my friend Samantha showed me a YouTube video made by a man with one leg. This man's name is Josh Sundquist, a motivational speaker and Paralympic gold medalist in skiing. He lost his left leg to cancer when he was 10 years old and, instead of accepting others' pity and letting it get the best of him, he uses his condition to inspire others and be the best that he can be. When I feel down, I watch some of his videos and remember that I can use my vices for the benefit of myself and others. He visited my friend Samantha when she had metal bars put in her back due to terrible scoliosis because he is from rural Virginia like my friends and I. This is the video that my friend Sam showed me, and it serves as a good introduction to his work. I feel like, given the demeanor of many of you, you will like this video. Music usually gets me up. The video that was posted up in the Gay thread relating to gay marriage laws was truly inspirational. (Metalcore, like KSE) Times of Grace - Hope Remains (Rock) Fireflight - Unbreakable (Metalcore) All That Remains - Not Alone (Rock) Nickelback - Someday (Metal) Raunchy - A Heavy Burden (Rap Rock) Flipsyde - Someday (and eponymous song Flipsyde) (Emo) 30 Seconds to Mars - A Beautiful Lie Those are some songs in my Winamp where I find the lyrics inspiring. I very much enjoy uplifting music as well, with or without vocals.
Ah, Josh Sundquist, as much as I respect him and admire his constant determination, that song was stuck in my head for days.
